Akash Ambani, Chairman, Jio has been named to the TIME100 NEXT — TIME’s list of the world’s rising stars.
TIME100 Next highlights 100 emerging leaders who shape the future of business, entertainment, sports, politics, health, science and activism, and more.
Ambani is the only Indian to feature in the list.
“The scion of Indian industrialist royalty, Akash Ambani was always expected to rise in business. But he has been putting in hard work. Ambani was promoted in June to chairman of Jio, India’s largest telecom company, with over 426 million subscribers, after being controversially handed a board seat at just 22. He’s since played a key role landing multibillion dollar investments from Google and Facebook. If he handles Jio well, he may be given a crack at larger chunks of the family’s conglomerate,” said the profile in Time 100 Next.
The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar flagged off a team of eight persons from (BMVSS) going to Syria to set up an on-the-spot artificial limb (Jaipur Foot) fitment camp. The team will be setting up a camp in Damascus, Syria to provide 600 artificial limbs to amputees in 42 ensuing days.
Lauding the efforts of BMVSS, Dhankhar said the organisation, by popularising the Jaipur Foot around the world and providing their services free of cost, has demonstrated India’s civilisational ethos of sharing and caring. He said that, as with their other initiatives, the latest effort will also generate enormous good-will for India.
Dhankhar complimented the team for their courage to take up the mission in Syria and wished them all success in their endeavours. He also interacted with the team from BMVSS, led by its founder, Shri D.R. Mehta and some of its beneficiaries using the Jaipur foot.
It is notable that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited one such centre of BMVSS in Philippines in 2017, and the former Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated a fitment camp of BMVSS in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2019.
The Centre has announced the appointment of Lt General Anil Chauhan (Retired) as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
In a statement, the ministry of defence said the retired Lt General will also function as Secretary to Government of India, Department of Military Affairs.
In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, Lt Gen Anil Chauhan had held several command, staff and instrumental appointments and had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and the northeast, the statement read.

This chowk comes as a gift to her fans.
A 40-foot-long Veena has been installed at the crossing as a key attraction which weighs around 14 tonnes.
The Veena has been designed by an artist named Ram Sutar in two months.
Along with the inauguration ceremony, there will be an exhibition of Lata Mangeskar’s paintings in Ram Katha Park.

Jaipur Literature Festival is the world’s most charismatic literary show which will be coming back in Jaipur in 2023.
The Teamwork Arts, the Festival producer, announced the dates for its 16th edition, setting them between19 – 23 January 2023 at Hotel Clarks, Amer, Jaipur.
In 2023, the literary extravaganza will showcase a plethora of themes and writers curated specially for its loyal community of audiences from across the world, offering an immersive experience of literature, discourse, musical performances, art installations, merchandise, local cuisine and more.

IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022 was released recently. A few facts from the list are as follows:
Gautam Adani and family tops the list with an estimated daily wealth of at Rs. 1,612 crore, which is 116 per cent increase when compared to 2021.
Other top performers include Mukesh Ambani, Cyrus S Poonawalla, Shiv Nadar and others..
1,103 individuals from a total of 122 Indian cities have cumulative wealth of Rs.1,000 crore wealth which is a 62 per cent increase in the last five years.
Cumulative wealth surged by 9.4 per cent, while average wealth fell by 1 per cent.
602 individuals witnessed their wealth increase or stay at constant. Of these, 149 were new entrants.
415 people have witnessed their wealth decline and 50 have dropped out from this list.
Number of billionaires in India has dropped to 221.
Chemicals and Financial Services have the largest number of new entrants and the pharmaceutical sector is the largest contributor of wealth creation and it has contributed towards 126 entrants.
The pharmaceutical sector has 36 rich entrepreneurs, followed by chemicals and petrochemicals with 23 entrepreneurs and software and services with 21 entrepreneurs.
The youngest in the list is Bengaluru-based Kaivalya Vohra, who at the age of 19, became the self-made rich individual with the grocery delivery application Zepto. Last year, the youngest in the list was 23-years old.
The youngest self-made woman entrepreneur in this list is Neha Narkhede – an Indian-American from Pune
Other prominent women in this list include Rekha Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and family in the 34th position and Radha Vembu of Zoho Corp at the 50th
IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List
The report was jointly released by Hurun India and IIFL Wealth. The 2022 list is the 11th annual ranking of the richest individuals in India focussing on individuals residing or born and bred in India. It gives a comprehensive overview of factors that contributed towards the increasing wealth in the country.

There are 4 Shaktipeeth temples of Goddesses in Bangladesh. Siddha temples of Goddess are also there in Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh has the largest number of four Shaktipeeths outside India. Similarly there is the world famous Hinglaj temple in Pakistan which is located in the cave on Hingol river and Chandrakup mountain.
It is believed that Mata Sati’s head was cut off in the Hinglaj Shaktipeeth. Apart from this, there are four Shaktipeeths in Bangladesh – Sugandha Devi Shaktipeeth (Shikarpur), Chattal Bhavani Shaktipeeth (Chittagang), Yashoreshwari Shaktipeeth (Ishwaripur), and Kartoyaghat Shaktipeeth (Bhawanipur).
Apart from this, there are two Shaktipeeths in Nepal – Muktidham Temple (Pokhara) and Guhyeshwari Shakti Peeth (Kathmandu). At the same time, there is one Shaktipeeth each in Sri Lanka and Tibet – Indrakshi Shaktipeeth, (Trikonamali, Sri Lanka) and Manas Shaktipeeth (Tibet).
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Embassy of India and the Gandhi Centre in the Netherlands organized the Dhrupad concert at the Gandhi Centre.
Dhrupad is the oldest classical style of Hindustani music. The renowned guest Vidushi Mrs. Ashoka Dhar and Rishabh Dhar were the performers for the Dhrupad concert.
Mrs. Ashoka Dhar doesn’t require much introduction, being the seniormost student of the Dhrupad Maestro Late Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar sahib. The first female Dhrupad performer from India, a true legend. Her career is now more than 45 years and not limited to India but throughout the world.
She received many awards globally. In her distinguished career, Ashokaji has performed in all major festivals in India & Abroad. Apart from being a very well-known performer, Ashokaji is a very well-respected teacher globally. We feel very blessed to have her today and listen to her!She was accompanied by her son Shri. Rishabh Dhar on Pakhawaj.
