Buland Darwaza is the highest gate in the world which sums up the story of Mughal empire. The Buland Darwaza was built by Emperor Akbar celebrating his victory over Gujarat. The inscriptions in Persian are still inscribed on the eastern pylon of the entrance of this gate, which are related to Akbar’s conquest of the Deccan.
Buland Darwaza: Marvel made with red sandstone & white marble
It is made of red sandstone which is decorated with white marble. In front of the door and on the pillars are inscribed verses from the Quran. It is decorated with octagonal dome. Structure of Buland Darwaza is a mixture of Hindu and Persian style architecture.
