Women working more than men for two decades says the PEW research center of America

0

Dimple Arora reports on the participation of women. Whether it’s household or professional obligations, women contribute to society just as much as men do.

In our society, women are contributing equally as men whether we talk about responsibilities at home or in the office. Women are one step ahead of men in every work and interest. However, it is found that ladies spend a large amount of their time in the household and taking care of their family and children. Whereas men are spending more time on work and rest.
In the survey of PEW research, it is found that:

1) 29% of couples earn almost the same salary as each other, 55% of married men earn more than women while in 16% of couples, women earn more than men.
2) 49% of people say that women can manage both homes and work efficiently and effectively.
3) 35% of people say that men give importance to both home and work duties.
4) 31% of people believe that women are more focused on their works

Over the last 20 years, the wage generation difference in the United States has been constant. Women will earn 82% of what males would earn in 2022. The results for 2022 are comparable to those of 2002 when women earned 80% of what men did.

Although women have increased their representation in higher-paying jobs historically held by men, such as professional and managerial positions. However, women are still regarded to be overrepresented in lower-paying jobs. It manifests itself as salary disparities between men and women.

The fact that women are treated differently than men is thought to play a significant part in the gap. While 45% of women believe the disparity is due to the choices that women make those men do not. Women have diverse attitudes whether it comes to emotional or practical thinking decisions.

The insightful visit to the Constitutional Park

0

The inauguration of India’s first Samvidhan Park in Jaipur, by President Draupadi Murmu is a positive step towards making the Indian Constitution more accessible to the general public. The park was built for Rs 9.66 crore. The design and art creation of Constitution Park were done by Anoop Bartaria.

Citizens must be aware of their constitutional rights and responsibilities, and this park provides an excellent opportunity for them to do so. Several statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Maharana Pratap, and Babasaheb Ambedkar adorn the area.

At the entrance of the park, there stands an impressive sculpture of the Indian Constitution shaped like a book. Additionally, there is a sculpture featuring various detailed illustrations of lotus and other things. Plus, there are several statues of the Constituent Assembly depicting the number of members involved in drafting the Constitution.

Additionally, two metal statues of human figures represent their fundamental rights. The park has a metal parliament sculpture that reminds us of the Constitution’s framing period.

Thus, the most interesting things in the park are the rectangular stones with engraved sections of the constitution and sculptures depicting the rich Indian culture and from where the ideas have been taken for drafting the largest constitution in the world.

The most striking sculpture portrays Dr. Ambedkar handing over the draft copy of the constitution to the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, symbolizing the mutual trust and respect amongst the assembly members.

The constitutional park is a significant initiative of the Governor that empowers citizens with the knowledge and encourages civic engagement.

The park is open only on Friday and Saturday every week. You have to make pre-registration on the official website of Rajbhavan and then enjoy this mesmerizing beauty of art and culture

The Visit to Constitution Park

0

Preksha Gupta reports on the visit of Saksham Sanchar students to the constitution park.

The constitutional park is a representation of the old Indian cultural artifacts inscribed on the original written Constitution. Raj Bhawan, is a surreal, peaceful office and a workplace of many official dignitaries. Thus, with nature in its bloom and peacocks showing off their beauty. Here, many official state meetings take place so it is also very confidential to reach and visit.

The Saksham Sanchaar committee organized the visit to ‘The constitution park’ for many students on the auspicious day of Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April 2023. “The Constitution Park” was inaugurated on 2 January 2023.

Thus, This place is the perfect amalgamation of patronage and knowledge for the people. The property has the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and Maharana Pratap which depicts the bravery, and valor our blood carries in every individual. Another is the peacock fountain, as the presence of peacocks and peahen makes the whole property so mesmerizing and melodious 24/7.

The visit was well guided by the officers which creates an environment of both security and learning for the student. The whole session was filled with interesting aspects of the constitution of India. The constitution park showcased the cover page of our Indian constitution at the entrance forward. The students admired the seal that was there on the constitution. Thus, The seal represents the map of India with elephants on it. The environment of the park takes you to the time of independence, a fresh breath of hope, of freedom, of experimenting with laws and princely states, and the courage to give something to a nation that is supreme to all.

There is a portrait of the constituent assembly hall, committee members of the constituent assembly, women members of the constituent assembly, and an emblem all made of marble and iron. These all works were well described on marble inscriptions.

The constitution park remembers the roots of the existing nation i.e. Veda, the Vedic period, and its essences like The Vedic gurukul, the Nalanda University, the Himalayas, the march of Baapu, the Buddha period, Mahavira’s period. Many more statutes represented fundamental rights, directive principles of state policy and it is unputdownable worth the visit and admiring and reading.

Many students in the park took many personal learnings with them and shared very vocally with one

another and the IPS officer in the interactive session. The learnings were of our roots, our laws, our discipline, our nation, and individual responsibilities towards the nation and ourselves. The major takeaway was being a citizen of India, we should be very curious about what are our history, our present, and our steps towards the future. We must at our fingertips know facts and knowledge about working in India.

Sex Ratio in India: Current Ratio, Reasons, Steps Taken by the Government

0

Sex ratio refers to the number of males per 100 females in a population. In India, the sex ratio has been a matter of concern for a long time. The country has been facing a declining sex ratio due to various socio-cultural factors. In this blog, we will discuss the current sex ratio in India and the steps taken by the government to improve it.

Current Sex Ratio in India:

According to the latest census data, the sex ratio in India is 929 females per 1000 males. This means that there are fewer females than males in the country. The sex ratio varies across different states in India. Some states, such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu, have a relatively better sex ratio than other states. However, several states, such as Haryana, Punjab, and Gujarat, have a significantly lower sex ratio than the national average.

Reasons for Low Sex Ratio:

The low sex ratio in India is primarily due to socio-cultural factors such as preference for male children, female infanticide, and sex-selective abortions. These factors are deeply ingrained in the Indian society, and changing them requires a significant shift in attitudes and behaviors. Moreover, poverty, illiteracy, and lack of education are also contributing factors.

Steps Taken by the Government:

The Indian government has taken several measures to improve the sex ratio in the country. The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme is one such initiative launched in 2015 to promote the value of the girl child and encourage education for girls. The government has also implemented various laws and regulations to prevent female infanticide and sex-selective abortions, such as the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.

The government has also launched several programs to promote women’s empowerment, such as the Mahila Shakti Kendra scheme, which aims to empower rural women through community participation. Additionally, the government has set up various schemes to provide financial assistance and incentives to families that have only girl children.
