Maahi Roj Festival will be organised on April 22-23 at Anantaya, Kanota Courtyard, Narain Niwas Palace, Jaipur.
The festival which is a contemporary craft festival celebrating our integral relationship with the Earth in its 9th Edition in the year 2023 translates to Earth Day Every Day. The Festival is an ongoing voyage of discovering the Planet’s Potential for viability. The Earth, supported by air, water, fire and space elements makes it our only home.
Founded by Ar. Geetanjali & Ayush Kasliwal, to acknowledge individual efforts taken up and to inspire the creators in the design and architectural fraternity, Maahi Roj – a sustainable hyper local festival, provides exposure to the community, mentoring the next generation to join the cause and impact livelihoods.’’ say the founders.
The 9th edition of Maahi Roj in 2023, shares the theme EARTH~UNearth, aspiring to explore conscious and mindful living with Maahi Roj Lite. The idea dwells in various realms with a central thought of moving ahead consciously. A play on words, Earth, UNearth, refers to unearthing ways of living rooted in ancient wisdom. An-artha in Hindi (UNEARTH) also signifies the disaster led by the discourse of human lifestyle which births the need of seeking the right meaning or artha (EARTH). Artha also translates to currency in Hindi, the idea of success is often calculated in terms of artha, this has forced us towards consumerism, ultimately leading towards satisfying unethical wants & desires of the market, the anartha.
The festival will be inaugurated by chief guest Archana Sharma, Chairperson, Social Welfare Board of Rajasthan, the festival is expecting the audience to include prominent personalities with the designers, architects, students and faculty of Institutes, art aficionados, and of course the press. It would be wonderful to understand the experiences, new directions of work, and anticipate stories which will inspire everyone.
