Rajasthan Royals players & support staff attend MoU ceremony of new International Cricket Stadium coming in Jaipur

Rajasthan Royals’ players and support staff on Thursday attended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Vedanta Ltd. held in the city. With the ambition of coming up with a world class facility which caters to the needs of the diaspora of Jaipur and Rajasthan, the RCA is building the world’s biggest cricket playing field and the third biggest cricket stadium in the world.

Announced as the Anil Agarwal International Stadium, the facility is being built 25 kms from the pink city, on the Jaipur-Delhi Expressway, and hence will also be easily accessible from the national capital. The proposed seating capacity is set at 75,000 while the entire complex will be spread over 100 acres.

Termed as ‘India’s new cricketing destination’ by President of RCA, Vaibhav Gehlot, the facility will also provide state-of-the-art viewing experiences for the spectators, with several hospitality areas designated. The stadium will also host a fully residential cricket academy which will serve as a grooming ground for all the talented cricketers of the state, and other parts of the world.

Reacting on the development, Jake Lush McCrum, Chief Executive Officer, Rajasthan Royals, said, “This is a historic moment for the people and the state of Rajasthan. We are delighted for the talented cricketers of this state that they will have this world-class facility at their disposal. Rajasthan has always been a hub for talent and this can take it to another level, benefitting both the state and the country. We are looking forward to supporting the RCA in this great endeavour and playing in this impressive stadium in the future.”
