Pakistan women seem more active and pushing than their Indian counterparts…Look how they are outperforming men in the EBNW Story:

Are Pakistan women more active and pushing than their Indian counterparts? In politics! Yes, if twitter accounts are any proof (proof of pudding is in its eating, yes pudding was also cooked at the Eid celebrated recently). Have a look what they say/do.

Dr. Arfana Mallah is a case in leadership. Always with smiles (@Arfanamallah66), this young and vibrant lady calls a spade-a-spade who ever may be the audience. She teaches Chemistry at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, a writer, women rights’ activist, anchor person, columnist, and much more when it comes to hammering the burning issues.

She portrayed her photo picking up mangoes at her brother-in-law’s orchard, to celebrated Eid. All smiles and innocently stated.

Next she tweeted to say, “It will be the 6th anniversary of foundation day of Khanabadosh Writers Cafe, Hyderbabad, Sindh.” She is a leader at the Women Action Forum (WAF), Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan.

Was Dr. Arfana in anger or anguish while she wrote, “ The day Karachi was hijacked by terrorist forces, 12 May victims are waiting for justice and Perviaz Musharaf the main culprit is still at large.

2 Reasons why Brahma is not worshipped in temples

0

Lord Brahma not worshipped as much as Vishnu and Shiva? Also Lord Brahma  has only a few temples all across the world, but Vishnu and Shiva have tons?  Wanna know what is the reason behind these facts:

Read EBNW Story to know four reasons:

1. As per Shiva Purana, Brahma and Vishnu had an argument to find who was the most powerful amongst the Trimurti. The argument went on and they asked Shiva to intervene who then took the form of a gigantic lingam made of flaming fire, and it went up to the heavens and also descended underneath the earth. Shiva told them that one finding the end of the light will be considered the most powerful.

Brahma took the form of a swan and started the search for the end of light. On the other hand, Vishnu took the form of a Varaha (wild boar) and started its search.

They kept moving fast but both couldn’t find the end.

Vishnu realized the fact that Shiva was, in fact, the greatest of the triad. But, Brahma thought that he can outdo Shiva with trickery. He passed the ketaki flower and requested it to tell Shiva that he had in fact reached the uppermost end. Ketaki told Shiva that he had seen Brahma reach the upper end of the lingam but Shiva knew that he was lying and he cursed Brahma that he shall never be worshipped on earth. Also, the ketaki flower was cursed that it will not be used in any of Hindu worship rituals.

Reason #2

In Matsya Purana, Shatarupa is known with different names which are Satarupa, Sandhya or Brahmi.

According to this Purana, when Brahma created the universe, he made a female deity known as Shatarupa and he too was allured and infatuated by her beauty.

He pursued her wherever she went But Shatarupa moved in various directions to avoid his gaze.

Brahma developed a head for each direction she went and had a total of five heads now.

Shiva appeared at this time and cut the top head and told Brahma that Shatarupa was, his daughter because he created her. He also cursed him that no proper worship should be done in the name of “unholy” Brahma

Art has always had as its test in the long term the ability to speak to our innermost selves. People have experiences in art museums today that they used to have in the church.

International Museum Day 2021: The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur has 2,300-year-old Egyptian mummy

On International Museum Day 2021, let’s discuss the story of the 2,300-year-old Egyptian mummy which is among the rare objects of historical interest placed inside the Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur.

The mummy, named Tutu, a female member of a family of priests, dates back to Egypt’s Ptolemic period from early 300 B.C. to 30 B.C and was excavated from a pyramid in Akhmim area of the ancient city of Panopolis.

It is one of only six mummies preserved in India and was gifted by the Museum of Cairo for an exhibition in Jaipur organised by the then ruler of the princely state, Sawai Madho Singh II, in 1887. Three experts from Egypt’s Ministry of Culture, who came here in 2011 to conserve the mummy, had concluded that it was in good condition. They had sterilised all attached objects to wipe out microbes.

Mummy was saved from torrential rains

In 2020, during the torrential rains that lashed the city last week, The mummy was taken out of its glass box in the museum’s basement and shifted to another hall in the building.

The rainwater, which inundated several roads and residential colonies of the State capital on August 14, entered the museum’s basement and submerged artefacts, paintings, maps, files and documents. Just before the water at four-foot level could touch the mummy, the staff broke the glass and carried it to a dry area on the upper floor.

Blood Moon 2021 on May 26: Here’s all you need to know about Total Lunar Eclipse

0

Blood Moon Day or the Total Lunar Eclipse of the year 2021 will be visible on May 26 when the Moon passes through Earth’s umbral shadow

The Blood Moon Day or the Total Lunar Eclipse will be visible on May 26 as the Moon passes through Earth’s umbral shadow.

As the event marks the astronomical highlight of 2021, the eclipse will be a combination of a full Moon, a Bloodmoon and a Total Lunar Eclipse.

The Bloodmoon that will be visible on May 26 will be one of the biggest of the year.

Total Lunar Eclipse

A Total Lunar Eclipse comes to fore when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned in a line. The Earth comes in between Sun and the Moon during the eclipse, blocking sun rays from reaching the Moon, casting its shadow on the lunar surface.

Blood Moon?

When the Earth casts its shadow on the Moon, it is partially visible and can be seen through the naked eye.

As earth’s atmosphere bends sunlight and indirectly lights up the Moon’s surface, the colours with shorter wavelengths get scattered due to the refraction of sunlight and get filtered while the higher wavelength colours like orange and red illuminate the Moon’s surface, giving it a reddish-orange glow. This reddish-orange Moon is known as Blood Moon.

Besides Blood Moon, the total lunar eclipse can also be orange or brown in colour depending on various dust particles and different wavelength colours reaching the moon’s surface.

World Hypertension Day 2021: Let’s know more about the date, history, theme this year and importance of controlling hypertension or high BP during the Covid-19 pandemic and the ways to manage it

World Hypertension Day is observed in May 17 each year.  Reasons for hypertension in young people include high stress levels along with obesity, sedentary lifestyle and poor dietary habits. Prolonged hypertension, also known as, high blood pressure comes as a major risk factor for many medical conditions including coronary artery disease, stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, vision loss, etc. Conscious lifestyle changes and medications can lower blood pressure, decreasing the risk of health complications.

World Hypertension Day History and significance

World Hypertension Day, initiated by The World Hypertension League, is observed on May 17 every year.

The initiative was launched on on May 14, 2005 however, the World Hypertension League has been dedicating May 17 of every year as World Hypertension Day since 2006.

Hypertension is the main risk factor for cardiovascular diseases which include coronary heart disease and stroke. It is also responsible for triggering chronic kidney disease, heart failure, arrhythmia and dementia.

Theme:

The theme for World Hypertension Day for five years from 2013 to 2018 has been ‘Know Your Numbers’ which aimed at increasing high blood pressure awareness in all populations, the theme in 2021 is ‘Measure your blood pressure, control it, live longer!’ to raise awareness especially in low to middle income areas and promote the accurate blood pressure measurement methods.

Importance amid Covid-19:

Some people with hypertension, diabetes and heart disease may develop more severe symptoms and complications once infected with the coronavirus. The pandemic is also leading to an increased prevalence of hypertension within all age groups. This is happening due to increased stress levels, lack of outdoor exercise due to frequent lock downs as well as unhealthy dietary patterns.

Prevention:

  1. Exercise – Active lifestyle can help lower your systolic blood pressure by an average of 4 to 9 mm Hg. Exercise helps you to maintain a healthy weight which in turn helps to control blood pressure.
  2. Diet – Eating a heart-healthy diet is important for managing your blood pressure and reducing your risk of heart attack, heart disease, stroke and other diseases.
  3. Continue medication – When somebody is diagnosed to have hypertension (systolic blood pressure 140 or more and/or diastolic blood pressure 90 or more), then in addition to diet and exercise, medicines become a must. Medicines need to be increased step wise to keep the blood pressure within range.
  4. Stop smoking – While smoking is not conclusively proven to cause high blood pressure, each cigarette you smoke temporarily increases your blood pressure for many minutes after you finish.
  5. Don’t drink – Drinking too much alcohol can raise blood pressure to unhealthy levels.
