Laila Majnu ki Mazaar is situated in Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, 11 kilometre from Anupgarh.
The mazar or tomb of Laila-Majnu is situated at Binjaur village around 11kms away from Anupgarh city. As per the legend, the tomb belongs to fabled lovers Laila and Majnu. The story goes that Laila and Majnu belonged to the Sindh and had settled here after escaping the clutches of Laila’s parents and her brother who were against their courtship.
Eventually when Laila and Majnu died, they are believed to have been buried here together. The tomb has today become a symbol of eternal love and people come here from far and wide to seek the blessings of the pair.
A fair is held here every year to commemorate the love of Laila and Majnu and it is attended primarily by newlyweds and couples.

PV Sindhu: Birth, Early Life and Education
PV Sindhu was born in Hyderabad on July 5, 1995 to PV Ramana (Father) and P Vijaya (Mother). Her parents have been the volleyball players at the national level. Sindhu’s father was a member of the team which won the bronze medal in the Seoul Asian Games held in 1986. He received Arjuna Award in the year 2000 for his contribution to the sports.
PV Sindhu completed her schooling at Auxilium High School, Hyderabad and at St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad.
PV Sindhu: Badminton Career
Sindhu started playing badminton at the age of eight. Under the guidance of Mehboob Ali, she learnt the basics of badminton at the badminton courts of Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. Later, she travelled a distance of 56 km every day from her residence to the badminton courts to learn and practice the sport.
She joined Gopichand Badminton Academy and won several titles under 10-years category. At the Ambuja Cement All India ranking, she won the 5th Servo All India ranking championship in the doubles and the singles category.
Under 13-years category, she won many titles. In under 14-years category, she won a gold medal at the 51st National State Games in India.
At the age of 14, Sindhu entered the international circuit and won a bronze medal at the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships in Colombo. Sindhu further won a silver medal at the 2010 Iran Fajr International Badminton Challenge and made to the quarterfinals of 2010 BWF World Junior Championships in Mexico but lost to the Chinese opponent.
At Swiss International, Sindhu won the Finals beating Carola Bott. She won the India International badminton event in 2011.

Russia started the construction of fifth nuclear power unit in Tamil Nadu’ Kudankulam on June 29, 2021, which is India’s first light water reactor.

This development makes a significant step in bilateral relation between both the countries.
Rosatom, a Russian company, is providing technology to construct the Kudankulam plant.
This plant with six units has 1,000 MWe generation capacity.
It is going to be India’s first light water reactor.
Background
India and Russia started talk for constructing two units of nuclear plant at same site under the General Framework Agreement (GFA). GFA was signed in June 2017 for units five and six. Unit one and two of kudankulam plant are already operational.
About Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP)
Located in Kudankulam town in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, this nuclear power plant is the largest nuclear power of India.
Construction of the plant started on March 31, 2002. However, it faced several delays because of opposition from local fishermen.
Six reactors of KKNPP
KKNPP is scheduled to have six VVER-1000 reactors. All these reactors have been built or is being built in collaboration with Russian state company and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). Reactors have the installed capacity of 6,000 MW of electricity. Unit one was made operation and synchronised with southern power grid in October 2013 which is generating electricity up to 1,000 MW. Unit two was synchronised with electricity grid on August 29, 2016. Units three & four was inaugurated on February 17, 2016. Now, construction of Unit five & six will start.

Amit Panghal, representing India in Men’s 52 kg boxing in Tokyo Olympics, is an amateur boxer from Haryana, who is a farmer’s son who won a gold medal in Boxing World Cup 2020.
Amit Panghal’s personal life
Amit was born in Haryana’s Rohtak district and is a son of a farmer while his brother serves the Indian Army. Before boxing, he served in the army as a junior commissioned officer too.

In 2020, he got a ticket for the Tokyo Olympics by defeating the Philippines’ Carlo Paalam in the 52-kg category. In December, he nabbed a gold medal in Boxing World Cup 2020 held in Germany.
For Tokyo Olympics, Panghal requested his childhood coach Anil Dhankar to be there. After losing in the Asian Championships, he tagged Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju in a tweet and said his only wish is that his coach standing alongside him during the Tokyo medal ceremony.

Amit won the gold medal at the National Boxing Championships in 2017. Later, he emerged as the national champion in Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in Tashkent by bagging a bronze. He also qualified for the AIBA World Boxing Championships but lost in the quarterfinal.
In 2018, Panghal won the silver medal at Commonwealth Games in the light flyweight category.
In 2019, Panghal won the Gold Medal at Asian Boxing Championship 2019 in Bangkok. In the same year, Panghal became the first Indian boxer to win a silver medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships, losing to Uzbekistan’s Shakhobidin Zoirov.

Pilavullakandi Thekkeparambil Usha, popularly known asPTbrings a surge of pride among Indians as she was the toast of Indian athletics throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Her spectacular performance in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics where she became the first Indian to reach the finals of the 400m hurdles, but lost the bronze by one-hundredth of a second, remains a shocking instant in many minds till date.
It being a stupendous achievement for an Indian, and a woman, in those days, many newborns were named after her in the country.
However, not many know that Usha’s life was not rosy enough and had many struggles.
She hailed from a small village, Payyoli, in Kerala’s Kozhikode district where she battled constant sickness as a child. However, her coach, OMNambiar, has been instrumental in Usha’s rise to success, and she credits for her tenacity on the track.
On her birthday today, we pay tribute to the woman and athlete who has done us all proud with her numerous achievements and inspires and trains athletes at Usha School in Kozhikode, Kerala.

Usha, a small town girl with big dreams was troubled by illnesses as a child. However, she was noticed in school when she was Class IV student and was asked to run with the school champion (who was in Grade VII). She stood first, and the rest is history.
Her parents, Paithel and Lakshmi, were ignorant of athletics. However, her uncle asked her to pursue the sport as she could then get a job as a sports instructor. But PT Usha just ran way into the record books. She participated in the National Pakistan Games at Karachi in 1980 where she won the 100m and 200m. By then, OM Nambiar spotted her talent and took on the role of a personal coach.
She participated in the Moscow Olympics as the youngest athlete and then bagged two silver medals at the Asiad held in New Delhi in 1982.
The 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles Usha lost the bronze medal by one-hundredth of a second.
At the 1985 Asian Championships in Jakarta, she won five gold medals while she won four gold medals at the 1986 Asian Games.
She was called as Payyoli Express and a road in Kochi was named after her, and so were many newborns.
In 1991, she married N Srinivasan, a CISF inspector, and subsequently settled down to family life. The couple has a son, Ujjwal.
Usha, by end of her career, had won 101 international medals. She is now employed as an officer in the Southern Railways.
Usha also started the Usha School of Athletics in Kozhikode district in Kerala, an organisation dedicated to advancing promotion and practice of sports with state-of-the-art facilities.
