A collection of textile samples lay spread out on the table – Samsa was a travelling salesman – and above it there hung a picture that he had recently cut out of an illustrated magazine and housed in a nice, gilded frame. It showed a lady fitted out with a fur hat and fur boa who sat upright, raising a heavy fur muff that covered the whole of her lower arm towards the viewer.

Gregor then turned to look out the window at the dull weather. Drops of rain could be heard hitting the pane, which made him feel quite sad. “How about if I sleep a little bit longer and forget all this nonsense”, he thought, but that was something he was unable to do because he was used to sleeping on his right, and in his present state couldn’t get into that position. However hard he threw himself onto his right, he always rolled back to where he was.

The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.

One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on his armour-like back, and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly, slightly domed and divided by arches into stiff sections.

In 1993, a humble saint , Sri Dutt Sharnanandji Maharaj, inspired from a leading saint of India, Ramsukh Dasji Maharaj started his journey to serve cows. He roamed throughout the country and noticed the status and agony of cows.

He further saw a few people who tried to sell 8 cows for some cruel purpose. This place was near Pathmeda, Sanchore, Rajasthan.

Starting a protest against it, he took the decision of starting a cow service here and hence came a Pathmeda Godham Mahatirth.

Dutt Sharnanandji’s vision is today inspiring many people to come forward and take this message forward.

Today many Indian states have banned cow slaughter, but the issue remains as controversial, as it was in the past. Cow is deeply associated with hindu religion. Lord Krishna was the saviour of cows and the devotees of Krishna always see cow as his companion.

COVID-19: Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH) sets high service standards to battle pandemic in Rajasthan!

0

Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH), the oldest private hospital in Rajasthan, followed high service standards to serve the people during tough cataclysmic times.

Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH) provided the best possible care to all Covid patients while maintaining the safety and care of non-Covid patients by modifying its policies. Look how the hospital made a mark by serving its patients differently:

During the first wave, SDMH, like the rest of the healthcare system of the country, was caught unawares. However, it modified its policies to provide the best possible care to all Covid patients while maintaining the safety and care of non-Covid patients.

Screening and Safety – SDMH started screening all patients and attendants in the OPD. Every patient, who was admitted, went through a Transit facility whereby he was tested for Covid. Only after that was the patient allocated a room, ward or ICU.  This ensured zero cross-infection from Covid to non-Covid patients.  The rationale of the policy was to prevent any suspected Covid case from entering non-Covid areas like the OPD or the Patient Admission Block.

Makeshift Arrangements – Due to the increasing number of Covid patients,we had to convert the attendant facility to the Covid facility. This enabled us to cater to a larger pool of Covid patients which was, essentially, the need of the hour.

Care to Covid Patients – Despite the high number of Covid patients, it is the compassionate care provided that the hospital is so proud of. SDMH ensured daily visits by senior consultants to every Covid patient admitted. Our doctors counseled every patient. Moreover, all attendants were counseled daily regarding their patient’s condition. SDMH served over 6,000 Covid patients during the pandemic.

Covid Investigations – To ensure timely medical care to Covid patients, we needed to have an in-house Covid investigation facility. SDMH started its own Covid laboratory very early. This ensured Covid reports within 3 hours, thereby reducing a patient’s transit time.  SDMH laboratory performed over 38,000 RT-PCR tests during this period, and also tested 6,800 positive cases.

Emergency Care – Moreover, SDMH ensured that the medical treatment for Covid patients, who also require other medical intervention, should not be compromised. During Covid times, we performed deliveries of 42 Covid positive mothers and over 40 surgeries of Covid positive patients. This certainly required a dedicated Operation Theatre with strong disinfection protocols.

Vaccination Drive – SDMH also led the vaccination drive in Rajasthan whereby over 2000 (100% of eligible staff) hospital employees were vaccinated.  In the second phase also, hospital became the first private vaccination centre in the state. The official vaccine promotional video by the State Govt. was actually shot in SDMH, depicting SDMH as the model vaccination centre.

Here are a few initiatives which set SDMH on a different note:

  • Initiated Screening and Transit Facility
  • Served over 6,000 Covid patients
  • SDMH laboratory performed over 38,000 RT-PCR tests and diagnosed 6,800 Covid positive cases.
  • Performed deliveries of 42 Covid positive mothers and over 40 surgeries of Covid positive patients.
  • Administered 12,256 vaccines in the first and second phase (60+ category) of vaccination.
  • SDMH was also the first private hospital of the state selected for 60+ vaccination category.

Dalai Lama’s B’day: Know his name, age, history & awards he won!

0

Dalai Lama birthday; Date, Quotes, Sayings and More..

The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, will turn 86 on July 6. It has been over six decades since he has been living in India. Calling himself as a “son of India”, he is somebody who has lived the longest in India as a “guest”. His birthday celebrations, each year, in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala are been one of the biggest events for the Tibetan community. Let’s read his inspirational quotes and sayings:

It’s a history known by all that he was given asylum and a Tibetan Government in Exile was formed in Dharamshala. He was, is and will be the face of Tibetans in the entire world. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1989.

He propagated the mid-way approach for a rapprochement with the Chinese government which implies that the Tibetan people do not accept the present status of Tibet under the People’s Republic of China. Also, they do not seek independence for Tibet.

HHDL himself has issued many statements regarding the reincarnation. In 2004, he said that if Tibetan people feel that there is no need for the next Dalai Lama, then, this institution may not continue.

In 2019, he made a similar statement again while speaking to some students that “the custom of recognizing reincarnate lamas may have had its day”.

In 2011, he said that he will leave clear written instructions behind on his reincarnation.

In April 2013, he said that “If the circumstances are such that a female Dalai Lama is more useful, then automatically a female Dalai Lama will come”.

In March 2019, he said that In future, in case you see two Dalai Lamas come, one from here (India), in a free country, one is chosen by Chinese, and then nobody will trust, nobody will respect (the one chosen by China). So that’s an additional problem for the Chinese. It’s possible, it can happen”.

One thing seems to be clear about the reincarnation that things are still fluid and any of these options above may come true. There have also been statements that the Golden Urn method of selecting the next Dalai Lama may be followed. However, there has been no official reaction or statement from India on the reincarnation issue.

Pushkar Singh Dhami: Meet the youngest CM of Uttarakhand

0

Pushkar Singh Dhami recently was administered oath as the eleventh chief minister of Uttarakhand.

Dhami, aged 45, is a lawmaker from Khatima assembly constituency who become the youngest chief minister of Uttarakhand, succeeding MP Tirath Singh Rawat. He never held any ministerial position before being elevated as chief minister. Dhami was unanimous choice of all 56 members of BJP’s legislature party.

Reason why Tirath Singh Rawat resigned?

Tirath Singh Rawat resigned because of uncertainty over by-polls he has had to win in order to continue as chief minister. As per rules, he had six months from the date of his swearing in to be elected as member of legislative assembly to continue his term as Chief Minister. However, the Election Commission of India has option of not conducting by-polls if term of assembly expires in less than a year. Under this scenario, Rawat became ineligible to stay in office.

Tirath Singh Rawat Background

Assembly elections in Uttarakhand are scheduled in early 2022. Last elections were held in 2017, in which BJP won 56 of state’s 70 assembly constituencies. BJP leader Trivendra Singh Rawat took oath as the chief minister of State then.

Rawat was sworn in as Chief Minister a day after he was elected as leader of BJP’s legislature party in state. He was administered oath of office by governor Baby Rani Maurya at Raj Bhavan in Dehradun.
