Zomato co-founder Gaurav Gupta resigned on september 14. In his letter, he clearly said that he is starting a new chapter in his life. Khushneet Kaur finds out more in this context

After spending six years at the company, Zomato co-founder, Gaurav Gupta, resigned, informing every employee through an internal email, saying that he will be starting a new chapter in his life. 

Gupta, who has been the co-founder and the Head of Supply in Zomato, the online food delivery platform, wrote in a heartfelt mail, “I am taking a new turn in my life and will be starting a new chapter, taking a lot from this defining chapter of my life – the last 6 years at Zomato. We have a great team now to take Zomato forward and it’s time for me to take an alternate path in my journey. I am very emotional as I write this and don’t think any words can do justice to how I am feeling right now.”

Gaurav Gupta joined Zomato in 2015 and was elevated to the role of co-founder in 2019. He has been a crucial member of the team in helping build Zomato’s premium membership subscription, with its advertising and sales. 

“I am in love with Zomato and will always be. Came in 6 years back not knowing what this would turn out to be. And what a mind blowing and amazing journey this has been. Feel proud of where we are today, what we have overcome to get here and feel even more proud of what we will achieve in the future,” Gupta said, according to the company’s blog. 

He also thanked the CEO, Deepinder Goyal, for making him a part of the journey, who replied back with a thankful note of his own that said, “Thank you for being a better friend to me than anyone else I’ve ever had. I can’t yet imagine everyday life at Zomato without you. You will be sorely missed. All the best!”

BTS, the South Korean boyband, which debuted back in 2013 with their sing No More Dream. The group consists of 7 member which includes 4 singers; Jin, V, Jimin and Jungkook and 3 rappers; RM , Suga and J-hope.

Breaking and creating enormous records, these grammy nominated artists always have their fans on head over heels for them and why not their hard works and dedication has broken all the language barriers and has created history. Since 2016 they have been collaborating with many famous foreign artists. But this time they are participating with their own favourite group Coldplay.

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1996.The band comprises vocalist, rhythm guitarist and pianist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and creative director Phil Harvey. They have been so loved all over the world for their contribution in music industry.

 My universe is the second single to be taken from Coldplay’s coming album ‘Music of the Spheres’ which wilk release on October 15. This track is written by both the boybands mutually and is sung in English and korean. Chris Martin (Coldplay memeber) on working with BTS he said: “We really don’t believe in boundaries or separation of anything really, and so the song my universe is about someone being told they can’t love a certain other person, or can’t be with this race, or they can’t be gay- whatever it might be”

Both the bands are considered as legends in music industry and fans are celebrating this announcement with so much enthusiasm and happiness. Since the announcement they are trending all over the twitter, fans are referring it as an legendary collab which will be written down in history and how can we deny this fact when two excellent bands will meet to make music it will create history.

Ola Electric to become world’s largest women-only factory with highest women workforce

Ola Electric’s FutureFactory is to become world’s largest women-only factory and the only all-women automotive manufacturing facility globally with their employee count over 10,000 women, said CEO Bhavish Aggarwal recently in a company blog post. Khushneet Kaur writes…

Ola Electric has come forward with a new initiative of E-Scooters with a vision to provide the world with a carbon negative footprint, clean mobility and an inclusive workforce, who will work alongside more that 3,000 AI-driven robots.

It will make its own battery packs, motor, vehicle computer and software to ensure that 90 per cent parts are present in close proximity, and to ensure low costs. It plans to make one electric scooter every two seconds on its 10 production lines with an aim to produce 10 million electric scooters annually.  

“Aatmanirbhar Bharat requires Aatmanirbhar women!” Aggarwal mentioned this in his tweet, with a video showing the first batch of enthusiastic and passionate employees, who arrived at the facility in Chennai.

“Enabling women with economic opportunities improves not just their lives but that of their families and indeed the whole community. In fact, studies show that just providing women parity in the labor workforce can grow India’s GDP by 27 percent,” the founder said. 

Ola Electric has invested significantly to train and upskill its all-women workforce in core manufacturing skills, and they will be responsible for the entire production of every vehicle manufactured. Their first task will be to ready Ola’s S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters for delivery.

US Open tennis men championship winner Daniil Medvedev from Russia, a popular Russian professional Tennis player who won the biggest battle this year in men’s singles final of the US Open tennis championships, shared the trophy with his wife saying, ‘What a way to celebrate an anniversary.’ He has always been appreciative of his wife and gives her credit for making him a better player.

Daniil Sergeyevich Medvedev was born on February 11,  1996 in Moscow, Russia and is currently ranked by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) as world No. 2, which is his career-high singles ranking first achieved on March 15 2021. Till now, he has won thirteen ATP Tour singles titles.

Medvedev started playing tennis when he was 9

Medvedev started learning tennis at the age of 9 when his parents convinced him for doing so, but he was not fully focused on this sport only. He completed his graduation and was enrolled at Moscow state institute of international relations but later on he dropped his studies to focus more on Tennis and took admission at State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth, and Tourism.

After 2019, he won two major tournaments and entered the top 10. In 2019, he won the Player of the year and Team of the year awards and was merited as Master of sports of Russia. Since then, he is making his country proud and working hard for the improvement of his game.

Finally on September 12, 2021, Medvedev gave a historic win against Novak Djokovic who was on his way to win all four Grand Slam tournaments in the same year. Medvedev clearly smashed the bid of Djokovic by beating him in straight sets 6-4,6-4,6-4. Medvedev fired 16 aces and 22 unreturned serves. 

Medvedev became the first Russian to win a major title since Maria Sharapova in 2014, and the first Russian man since Marat Safin in 2005. 

It was an iconic and outstanding victory for Medvedev which was a result of his hard work and dedication.

September 14 was the date of launch of Selene project in Japan which was the largest and most sophisticated lunar mission after the Apollo program

Selene, the second Japanese lunar orbiter spacecraft, was launched on September 14, 2007. It successfully orbited the Moon for a year and eight months. 

The Selene project was started in 1998, and it was better known by its Japanese nickname Kaguya, which was chosen by the general public after Princess Kaguya in the fairytale. 

The spacecraft orbited the Moon for a year and eight months, completing its planned operations by the end of October 2008 and extended operations through March 2009. Later, it was planned to be sent into a circular 50 kilometre orbit, but due to a degraded reaction wheel the plans were changed, and the main orbiter was instructed to impact on the lunar surface near the crater Gill.

The main objective of the mission was to do a global survey of the Moon for a better understanding of its origin and evolution, elemental/chemical composition, etc; to develop technologies for lunar orbit insertion and spacecraft attitude, and orbit control. Kaguya, being a success, provided satisfactory results. It revealed the global distribution of olivine, a dense silicate mineral, on the lunar surface and its origin which gave a new insight to the team.

SELENE was the largest and most sophisticated lunar mission after the Apollo program, and it carried 13 scientific instruments to obtain scientific data of the lunar origin and evolution, and to develop the technology for the future plans of lunar exploration and utilization.

Solo travel: 65% women prefer this new trend against 35% males in India

Solo travel trend increases among women in India. Around 65% of them like travelling alone while 35% males like the newer trend.

According to a recent survey by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, there has been a gradual increase of women travelling alone, taking up the graph to 65%. While only 35% of men prefer to travel solo. Women have obviously surpassed the male kind, and their parents are supporting them in their endeavours too.

According to Google Trends, more than 2 million women searched websites and searched for tips for solo travel in the year 2017. The number of Indian women in this would not have been more or less equal to this figure.

Nitesh Chauhan, founder of a travel group called ‘Jugni’ in Delhi, says that more women are now seeing solo trippers than men. If we talk about statistics, today 65% ​​of women prefer solo travel. Compared to these, male solo travelers are about 35%.

Ritu Mehrotra, regional manager for South Asia at Booking.com, says, “Our pre-pandemic data saw only 18% of Indian travellers planning a trip on their own while 54% of travellers now say that they will be planning a solo trip in the future.”

The situation of COVID-19 hasn’t dampened people’s objectives of travelling around the world. They want to make up for the time lost in 2020, and this sentiment is encouraging. But they are still looking for precautions.
