Prasoon Joshi has been an acclaimed lyricist, poet, writer, screenwriter, ad man and CBFC chairperson. Let’s find out his inspirational story on his 50th birthday…

The divine lyricist Prasoon Joshi, born on 16th September, 1971, is not just an excellent lyricist but and is a poet, a writer, screenwriter and communication specialist and a marketer too. He has been appointed as chairperson of the central board of film certification in 2017 after giving excellent performance in his diverse fields.

Prasoon made his debut in writing lyrics with the movie Lajja which turned out to be a successful movie. And soon after that he got many more offers from Hit movies likhe Hum Tum, Rang De Basanti, Fana, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and many more.

His astonishing talent as a lyricist has led him to a very successful life. He was awarded with Padma Shree ( 4th highest civilian award in India) in 2015. 

He was further awarded with best lyricist award at Filmfare in 2007, 2008 and 2014 and the National Film Award for best lyrics in 2007 and 2013. 

Prasoon has given some best songs that are being loved by the audience. His lyrics are very thoughtful, simple yet carrying some very deep meaning inside it. Either its love song or a song about patriotism, it seems like he creates some wizardry. The way he writes lyrics, it creates a beautiful bond between the subject which the song is portraying and the audience at an emotional level. This is the reason why majority of his songs seem evergreen.

2) The songs of movie Hum Tum which was released in 2002 still gives us those first love vibes.

The song ‘Ladki Kyon’ was a very Iconic song which is still relatable for boys , the lyrics was so beautifully written that how boys thinks that girls are so complicated and they find it very difficult to understand them but still cannot live without girls , this song still gives us a sweet vibe of love in bittersweet relationship when we start falling for our best friend.

While the lyrics of song Hum Tum are so mesmerizing and meaningful.

What is Ozone Layer and its importance

We all know that life on this earth would not have been possible without sunlight but its energy emerging from the sun is very strong for us to bear it and it is only possible because of the ozone layer that we can survive on this planet and get the right amount of sunlight while being shielded from its harmful effects. The ozone is a fragile sheet of gas that protects earth from the harmful UV rays. The presence of Ozone layer is very important for the humankind on Earth. 

World Ozone Day History

Back in 1970s when some scientists were working on ozone layer, they found out that the humanity is creating a big hole in this protective shield that can destroy our planet in near future. They informed the whole world about this issue. The hole was caused because of the excessive pollution on Earth, and because of the ozone depleting gases such as (CFCs) and (HFCs) used in air conditioners and refrigerators. The humanity was well informed about the threats that this hole can cause; the less protection from ozone layer can cause skin cancer , cataract and damage in the ecosystem. 

 World Ozone Day: Montreal Protocol

The Montreal Protocol was a global agreement which started for the protection of ozone layer and is in run today too. It has done a wonderful job for the protection of humanity and became the most successful global agreement till date. Montreal Protocol came into existence with an aim to protect the ozone layer by controlling total global production and consumption of substances that deplete it. And a big thanks to this protocol that the ozone layer is healing.

World Ozone Day: Vienna Convention:

In 1985, the world’s government adopted Vienna Convention for the protection of Ozone layer under the Montreal Protocol. Convention protocol was adopted and signed by 28 countries, on 22 March 1985. In September 1987, under the Convention’s Montreal Protocol, governments, scientists and industry worked together to cut out 99 per cent of all ozone-depleting substances. 

This year, we are celebrating the 36th successful year of the achievements by the Montreal Protocol  and Vienna convention. And the very existence of celebration September 16th as World Ozone Day was to celebrate these achievements. This day reminds the humankind the importance of Ozone layer and how important it is to protect it at all cost.

Prasoon Joshi birthday special: Meet the renowned lyricist, poet, writer and CBFC chairperson, Prasoon Joshi, who is celebrating his 50th birthday today.

Bollywood’s one of the greatest lyricist, poet, writer and CBFC, Prasoon Joshi, is celebrating his 50th birthday on September 16. He has given the film industry a number of superhit songs, blessing our ears with beautiful lyrics, some of which make us happy and some make us emotional. 

Prasoon Joshi as an author

Parson Joshi, born on 16 September 1971 in Almora, Uttarakhand, started writing early in his life and published his first book at age 17, titled Main aur Woh. Two more books established him as an author. Spending time in Almora, Nainital, Rampur, Meerut and Delhi gave him a remarkable feel for the real India pulse that he now puts in his work.

Career in advertising

During his MBA, he decided to combine his love for culture and art, and his faculty for commercial dynamics to make his career in advertising. He started with Ogilvy & Mather in Delhi, and 10 years later, he was appointed the Executive Creative Director of the Mumbai office. In early 2002, he started working for McCann Erikson as Executive Vice-President. 

Joshi is known for creating notable work for multinational brands such as Nestle, Coca Cola, Microsoft, L’Oreal, Unilever, J&J, Reliance, NDTV, CNN IBN, Times Now, and many more, some of which were utilized for various social campaigns in India.  

His Happydent television commercial was listed by Bob Garfield of AdvertisingAge as one of his personal choices for the Cannes Gold in 2007.

Work in the film industry

Joshi made his debut as a lyricist with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lajja. With Rang De Basanti (2006), he also became a dialogue writer. He has received the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award three times, National Film Award for Best Lyrics twice, and was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2015 for his contributions toward the field of Arts, Literature and Advertising. 

 As a CBFC chairman, he has maintained the fine balance between the filmmakers and societal sensitivities.

Hybodont Shark of Jurassic era discovered from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan

Hybodont Shark, a new specie of Jurassic era discovered from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

In a rare discovery, teeth of new species of hybodontshark  of Jurassic age have been reported for the first time from Jaisalmer by a team of officers comprising  Krishna Kumar,Pragya Pandey, Triparna Ghosh and Debasish Bhattacharya from the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Western Region, Jaipur.

This finding has been published in Historical Biology, a Journal of Palaeontology of International repute, in its August, 2021, 4th issue. Prof. Dr. Sunil Bajpai, Head of the Department, Department of Earth Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, who is a co-author of this publication, played a significant role in the identification and documentation of this important discovery.

According to Krishna Kumar, Senior Geologist, Palaeontology division, Western Region, “Hybodont sharks have been reported for the first time from the Jurassic rocks (approximately, between 160 and 168 million-years-old) of the Jaisalmer region of Rajasthan. Hybodonts, an extinct group of sharks, was a dominant group of fishes in both marine and fluvial environments during the Triassic and early Jurassic time. However, Hybodont Sharks started to decline in marine environments from the Middle Jurassic onwards until they formed a relatively minor component of open-marine shark assemblages. Hybodonts finally became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous time 65 million years ago.

Significantly, the newly discovered crushing teeth from Jaisalmer represent a new species named by the research team as Strophodusjaisalmerensis. The genus Strophodus has been identified for the first time from the Indian subcontinent and is only the third such record from Asia, the other two being from Japan and Thailand. The new species has recently been included in the Shark references.com, an international platform operating in association with International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Species Survival Commission (SSC), and Germany.

This discovery marks an important milestone in the study of Jurassic vertebrate fossils in the Jaisalmer region of Rajasthan, and it opens a new window for further research in the domain of vertebrate fossils.

Kondana consists of many stupas and sculptures which often give tourists a sight of the ancient lifestyle of Buddhist Monks. Its astonishing architecture mesmerises people.

 It is said that back in early 1900, an earthquake destroyed most parts of the Kondana caves including its floor, front entrance and many stupas. But the wooden patterns are still intact on the caves and gives it a beautiful look.

The cave 4: It also consists of nine cells at the back and it looks like a natural hollow under the cliff. Beyond them is a tank, now filled with mud, then two cells under a deep ledge of over-hanging rock, and, lastly, a small cistern.

Apple iPhone 13 series launched. The phones will be available for pre-order in India on September 17 with sales starting September 24. Four models unveiled. know about its availability and prices.

Apple launched four models of iPhone 13 lineup and other products during its California Streaming event. The smartphones have been brought in a similar looking design as the current gen model, but with a few changes which include a trimmed down notch that is 20 percent smaller, improved camera system, and a few new color options to choose from.

The event was mostly in line with Wall Street expectations that featured iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, with significant updates in the iPad segment with a new entry-level model and a 5G enabled iPad mini. The new Apple Watch Series 7 has some design tweaks, but won’t be available before later this year. 

The phones will be available for pre-order in India on September 17 with sales starting September 24.

iPhone 13 Features

The new series in iPhone looks almost identical to its predecessor, but it has a downsized notch that is 20 percent smaller providing more space at the top of the display. It has a diagonal lens placement, new colours including Starlight, Midnight, Blue, Pink and Product RED. It comes with 120 Hz dynamic refresh rate, powered by a new 6-core chip, the Apple-designed A15 Bionic. Storage has doubled to 128 GB.

iPhone 13 Prices 

iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be starting from the same prices as that of last year, which is Rs 79,900 and Rs 69,900 respectively. iPhone 13 Pro will start at Rs 1,19,900 and iPhone 13 Pro Max for Rs 1,29,900 which Apple has kept the same as last year as well.

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh was known as Aryab Peshwa who was known asa freedom fighter, revolutionary, writer, journalist and a social reformer.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, to commemorate the Jat figure two years after the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promised to construct a university in his name.

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh History

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, popularly known as “Aryan Peshwa”, was born in 1886 in UP’s Hathras, in the ruling Jat family of the princely state of Mursan. Coming from a royal family, he was actively involved in politics from a young age. He was a freedom fighter, revolutionary, writer, journalist, social reformer, and internationalist who entered Lok Sabha as an Independent candidate from Mathura in 1957.

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh Education 

He received his education from Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental Collegiate School, now known as Aligarh Muslim University, and donated 1.221 hectares of land in 1929 to the university. In 2019, BJP and RSS leaders demanded that AMU should be renamed after him. 

The Raja was involved in the Swadeshi movement, and established a “Provisional Government of India” in Kabul in the middle of World War I in 1915, declaring himself as the President. He was a firm believer of Gandhi’s policy of non-violence and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1932. 

“He was not a political figure. He was more of a reformer who promoted education. He gave his own residence to establish the first technical school of the country. He was well versed in eight different languages, he practised different religions, he founded the world federation, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize, he set up a Provisional Government of India in Afghanistan, but still, very few know about him,” said Charat Pratap Singh, the great grandson of Mahendra Pratap.

He always called and believed himself to be the “servant of the powerless and weak.”

The much-awaited recreation of the most loved six-year running Zee TV soap Pavitra Rishta is released on the midnight of 15th September on the streaming platform ZEE5 premium. The trailer of Pavitra Rishta 2.0 was unveiled on 1st September revealing Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer Sheikh in the lead roles. 

Pavitra Rishta 2.0 is created as a web series by Ekta Kapoor, which consists of eight seasons and will reprise the story of the original soap, the love story of Archana and Manav. We will again see Ankita Lokhande playing her most loved character Archana on the platform while this time the character of Manav is played by none other than Shaheer Sheikh. 

Shaheer Sheikh is a versatile actor, who can step in the shoes of any character with much ease. He has portrayed some very good characters and has given hit soaps, his role in Mahabharata as Arjuna was highly praised, his role as Dev Dixit in kuch rang pyaar ke aise bhi was very loved and appreciated by fans that they demanded for more seasons of the show. While Ankita Lokhande earned her fame through Pavitra Rishta only and was the highest paid television actor but after 2018 she striked for working in movies. She worked as supporting actor in Manikarnika and Baaghi 3. 

 This original Pavitra Rishta came back on 2009 as a TV soap on ZEE TV and become very successful in its time and ruled the television with highest TRP’s for a span of six years. The lead stars of Pavitra Rishta were Ankita Lokhande as Archana and Late Sushant Singh Rajput as Manav. 

The sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput shocked the whole nation and outraged his fans. And ever since the announcement of Pavitra Rishta 2.0 , the whole cast is being trolled and abused on social media especially Ankita Lokhande as back in those Pavitra Rishta days she was dating Sushant Singh Rajput. Zomato co-founder Gaurav Gupta resigned on september 14. In his letter, he clearly said that he is starting a new chapter in his life. Khushneet Kaur finds out more in this context

After spending six years at the company, Zomato co-founder, Gaurav Gupta, resigned, informing every employee through an internal email, saying that he will be starting a new chapter in his life. 

Gupta, who has been the co-founder and the Head of Supply in Zomato, the online food delivery platform, wrote in a heartfelt mail, “I am taking a new turn in my life and will be starting a new chapter, taking a lot from this defining chapter of my life – the last 6 years at Zomato. We have a great team now to take Zomato forward and it’s time for me to take an alternate path in my journey. I am very emotional as I write this and don’t think any words can do justice to how I am feeling right now.”

Gaurav Gupta joined Zomato in 2015 and was elevated to the role of co-founder in 2019. He has been a crucial member of the team in helping build Zomato’s premium membership subscription, with its advertising and sales. 

“I am in love with Zomato and will always be. Came in 6 years back not knowing what this would turn out to be. And what a mind blowing and amazing journey this has been. Feel proud of where we are today, what we have overcome to get here and feel even more proud of what we will achieve in the future,” Gupta said, according to the company’s blog. 

He also thanked the CEO, Deepinder Goyal, for making him a part of the journey, who replied back with a thankful note of his own that said, “Thank you for being a better friend to me than anyone else I’ve ever had. I can’t yet imagine everyday life at Zomato without you. You will be sorely missed. All the best!”

BTS, the South Korean boyband, which debuted back in 2013 with their sing No More Dream. The group consists of 7 member which includes 4 singers; Jin, V, Jimin and Jungkook and 3 rappers; RM , Suga and J-hope.

They are currently the biggest artist and band all over the globe. Breaking and creating enormous records, these grammy nominated artists always have their fans on head over heels for them and why not their hard works and dedication has broken all the language barriers and has created history. Since 2016 they have been collaborating with many famous foreign artists. But this time they are participating with their own favourite group Coldplay.

BTS & Coldplay

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1996.The band comprises vocalist, rhythm guitarist and pianist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and creative director Phil Harvey. They have been so loved all over the world for their contribution in music industry.

 My universe is the second single to be taken from Coldplay’s coming album ‘Music of the Spheres’ which wilk release on October 15. This track is written by both the boybands mutually and is sung in English and korean. Chris Martin (Coldplay memeber) on working with BTS he said: “We really don’t believe in boundaries or separation of anything really, and so the song my universe is about someone being told they can’t love a certain other person, or can’t be with this race, or they can’t be gay- whatever it might be”

Both the bands are considered as legends in music industry and fans are celebrating this announcement with so much enthusiasm and happiness. Since the announcement they are trending all over the twitter, fans are referring it as an legendary collab which will be written down in history and how can we deny this fact when two excellent bands will meet to make music it will create history.
