Synthetic embryo developed with a brain & a beating heart…

0

A synthetic embryo with a brain and a beating heart has been developed by researchers which is nothing less than a wonder in today’s world.

Many research and models were developed before, and all of them were meant to deliver the synthetic embryo, but things have changed this time. As we speak, the researchers have built the very initial stage of life. The development is very remarkable compared to other models. The researchers have come a long way. After they proposed the idea of the synthetic embryo, they created a trusted model from mouse stem cells, which initially helped form a brain, a beating heart, and all the body’s other organs.

Professor Magdalena Zenicka-Goetz leads a very authentic group of researchers who developed the research and is the brainchild of the initiative. Their work is to promote more in the field of life science. They developed the embryo by abandoning an egg or sperm; they used the stem cells in parts of the egg or sperm, which is a very effective approach in building and developing into any sort of cell in the body. Thus, this is the reason why stem cells are the body’s master cells in this approach.

In the lab, the researchers applied many interesting techniques. Yet, scientific approaches, for instance, constructed favorable environments and yielded an exceptional group of genes that build a sort of interaction between the cells. The main motive was to allow the cells to talk to each other.

The researchers claimed that the stem cells were self-organized and turned into a structure. Later, they developed into subsequent stages of research until they developed a beating heart and the very initial phase of the brain. The strategic development of the stem cells also generates a yolk sac, mainly developed for the embryo and nutrition in the first week.

However, the Cambridge model is quite unlike, as it developed the entire brain and the anterior portion.

Researchers claimed that the synthetic embryo resulted after many hard efforts and sleepless nights of research. The research will be an aid for a synthetic organ transplant. The research will help them study the formation of the brain and other organs very clearly as It is hidden as a process. It will be the perfect way of studying why there is a pregnancy that fails while others thrive with a healthy pregnancy. The researcher claims that it has opened new doors to study neuro-developmental in the stage of experimental models.

The research is revolutionary in its own way. Today life science has achieved this. We know there are brighter possibilities for life in the coming days.

Black squirrel spotted for the first time in Rajasthan

Black squirrel seen for the first time in Rajasthan. Know who found it and how?

For the first time in the history of Rajasthan, Black squirrel has been spotted near Sagwara division.

The credit for spotting, clicking and confirming the first of its kind squirrel in Rajasthan goes to Mukesh Panwar, a resident of Sagwara, a member of the Vagad Nature Club, a well-known butterfly expert.

Panwar said that squirrels are seen in rare melavistic form, but among the common squirrels there is a special squirrel ‘black squirrel’.

He said that this creature is completely black in color, its body hair, eyes, tail hair are all in the same black color. Two black squirrels have appeared at two different places. At first sight, it looked like some other creature like a squirrel, but after seeing its behavior for four consecutive days, it was found that it is normal squirrel, only the color is black.

Dharmendra Vyas, snake specialist of Padardi Badi, said that normally the color of the skin of all living beings is genetically determined, but one organism in lakhs can be in melanistic (dark) form (dark or black). It may not be a disease or genetics.

He said that black tigers have been seen in the forest of Orissa and black panthers have been seen in Karnataka, Maharashtra etc., similarly these black squirrels have also been seen in Sagwara region. Nature and environmental experts from across the division, including Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Virendra Singh Bedsa, Rupesh Bhavsar, Vinay Dave and other members of Vagad Nature Club have expressed happiness on the site of this rare creature.

Renowned environmental scientist Dr. Satish Sharma said that there is no official record of black squirrel sighting in Rajasthan, possibly this is the first case in Rajasthan. He said that due to the rich biodiversity, the Vagad-Mewar zone is also visible for rare species of fauna, so after the sighting of black squirrels, once again we have to pay attention to save this biodiversity.

BookMyShow removes animal circuses from its platform following PETA India campaign

0

BookMyShow – India’s largest ticketing portal – has removed circuses using animals from its platform following a recent meeting with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India.

As a result, a billboard placed by PETA India outside BookMyShow’s corporate office asking the company to stop supporting animal circuses has been replaced with one featuring boxer Vijender Singh that reads “Knock Out Cruelty: Boycott Circuses”. The company has verbally pledged to PETA India that it will form an official policy regarding animal circuses.

“Circuses worldwide are moving towards using only consenting human performers who are free to come and go, get paid, and can retire – unlike animals who are caged, chained, and forced to do tricks for the entire lives under the threat of punishment,” says PETA India Director Poorva Joshipura. “We commend BookMyShow for considering the animals’ plight and for its commitment to animal welfare and look forward to the company’s official policy, which we hope will make clear that it will support only circuses using willing human performers henceforth.”

The e-ticketing platform has sold tickets for Rambo Circus – whose owner was recently arrested for various violations of animal protection laws and let out on bail – Great Gemini Circus, Ajanta Circus, and others. The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) recently sought action against Ajanta Circus for using animals without the required certification.

Circuses are so notorious for their cruelty to animals and disregard of animal protection laws that in 2017, 2019, and 2020, the AWBI advised the central government to pass legislation to stop the use of animals in circuses. Last year, the Central Zoo Authority cancelled its recognition of the Great Golden Circus, the only circus that was still using elephants for performances.

Appeals from 100 veterinarians in different states and a petition signed by 1,00,000 students from private and government schools all across the country addressed to the minister of fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying asking to establish laws that would prohibit the use of animals in circuses cited numerous reasons why circuses must be barred from using animals.

Several AWBI inspections and numerous investigations by PETA India prove that circuses are cruel: animals are continuously chained or confined to small, barren cages; deprived of veterinary care and adequate food, water, and shelter; and denied everything that’s natural and important to them. Through physical abuse with weapons, they’re forced to perform confusing, uncomfortable, and even painful tricks. Many display stereotypic, repetitive behaviour indicative of extreme stress.
