International Coffee Day, celebrated every year on 1 October since 2015, is an occasional event that marks the long history of the drink with a purpose to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage.

Earlier many different countries celebrated their own coffee days at different dates throughout the year and international coffee day was really not a thing. The very idea of coffee day was first initiated by Japan and was followed by many countries but after 2014, the Member States of the ICO agreed to organise International Coffee Day on 1 October to create a single day of celebration for coffee lovers around the world. And the first official date was 1 October 2015, as agreed by then International Coffee Organization and was launched in Milan. Since then it is being celebrated every year all around the world.

Coffee day, a celebration with over 77 members States of the ICO and dozens of coffee associations from around the world, is an amazing opportunity for all the coffee lovers from all around the globe to show their love, appreciation and support to the millions of farmers whose livelihoods depend on the aromatic crop.
