The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla arrived at Netherlands on dated 21 august 2022. Landed in Amsterdam with Members of the Indian Parliamentary Delegation on the way to Halifax, Canada to participate in the 65th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference and received a warm welcome from Ambassador of India HE Mrs. Reenat Sandhu. He then headed straight to Sewa Dhaam Hindu Center.
Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla offered prayers at Sewa Dhaam Hindu Centre in The Hague and conveyed his greetings to the Surinami-Hindustani community and gifted a Ganesha idol to the temple as a mark of reverence.
He also appreciated the work of Seva Dhaam Hindu Centre in spreading peace and harmony among people.
Addressing the Indian Diaspora in Netherlands, Om Birla ji shared his thoughts with dignitaries at the reception ceremony hosted by Indian Embassy for the IPD at India House. Highlighting India’s Socio-Economic progress & relevance of Digital India, Start-ups & innovations.
Later he Shared his happiness over the achievements and aspirations of New India and welcomed their enthusiasm to contribute to India’s progress.
As brand ambassadors of India, the community members serves as a strong and good link between India and the Netherlands and further asked the members to be an active partner in nation-building and participated in groups, tasks, discussions, polls, blogs and talks and believes their contribution would make a difference in a positive way!
