The Line is a planned smart linear city being built in Neom, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This futuristic mega-project features two massive, mirror-encased skyscrapers stretching in a straight line over 170 kilometers (106 miles) of desert and mountain terrain.

Mitali Mishra features five rare facts of the city in The EBNW Story …

  • The city will be zero-carbon, through the elimination of carbon-intensive infrastructure like cars and roads. It will operate on 100% renewable energy.
  • The Line will be 170 kilometres (110 mi) across, will preserve 95% of the nature within Neom. Ideal climate all year round will ensure that residents can enjoy the surrounding nature.
  • Everything will be within five minutes of walking distance, and a well-organised public transportation system. Residents will encounter friends and family more frequently thanks to nearby amenities thanks to chance encounters.
  • It is expected to have nine million residents,It is claimed by the Saudi government that it will create 380,000 jobs.Artificial intelligence will be the driving force behind automated services.
  • Three levels will make up The Line: a layer for pedestrians on the top, a layer below for infrastructure, and a layer below for transit. The transportation tier will contain a high-speed rail system that, once completed, will allegedly allow passengers to travel 512 km/h from one side of the city to the other in 20 minutes.
