Dimple Arora reports on the debut of Junior Tendulkar.
Debutante junior Tendulkar, Arjun accomplished a great opening bowling for Mumbai Indians on Sunday 16th April 2023 IPL. He bowled 2 overs on his first day of debut. Additionally, MI defeated KKR by 5 wickets and 14 balls at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after the decision to bowl first at the win of the toss.
Every single cricket fan was fixated on Arjun’s performance on Sunday. Nevertheless, he gave his career a great start by maintaining the legacy of Sachin Tendulkar.
Furthermore, in the recent match on 18th April, he picked up his first IPL wicket against SRH (Sunrises Hyderabad). In this match, he bowled spectacularly in the 20th over. Making MI win by 14 runs in the IPL. Tendulkar came up as an entrusted bowler having the experience to bowl for four overs before that in his IPL career.
Veteran India’s speedster and Sachin’s 2011 World Cup teammate, Sreenath was full of praise for Arjun’s bowling.
“I was the happiest person when I saw him on the ground. It’s so good to see a legend’s son and it isn’t easy for a player from a legendary family, but he came out with flying colors,” Sreesanth told Star Sports. And I feel he played exceptionally well in his first game. I would have loved to see him get a wicket and go about things. But I am very confident that having a father like Sachin Paaji will help him come good.”
Sehwag, in conversation with Cricbuzz at the end of KKR’s innings, had said: “He was brilliant on his debut”. The former India opener also wanted to see Arjun hit a six as a winning run for MI, but perhaps that is reserved for another day.
