According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Mahatara Jayanti is celebrated on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra. In 2022, Mahatara Jayanti will be celebrated on April 10.

Before the universe, no element was present in the world. While there was darkness everywhere and maa Kali ji was present, there was no power and at that time a ray of light was born in the universe which was known as Mahatara. The devi was named Tara Devi due to the origin of light.
