Lockdown motivation: A mesmerising green patch has been created in a beautiful house in MP with a shivalingam installed on a hillock and a cascading waterfall pouring water drops over it. There’s a Buddha statue at the centre giving it a monastery feel, a Radha Krishna garden which takes you to Vrandavan and colourful stones around which will surely beat all blues by bringing in positivity arou

This is the story of an educationist who created a beautiful lawn during recent lockdown and installed a Buddha statue, Lord Shiva, Krishna Radha, a cascading waterfall along with a patch of green in a small lawn which once looked like a ‘concrete jungle’ to beat the negativity which was buzzing around due to present pandemic and ensured that minds and brains of one and all get some soothing vibes in surroundings.

The lady with a difference is Pravina, a resident of MP in Ratlam district who is serving as an educationist delivering knowledge to students, is an avid writer who loves spreading positive stories around and is a mentor who knows how to handle challenges of life accommodating a gracious smile on face and silently storing a strong will power within to be a winner.

At a time when the humankind was feeling suffocated in their houses, she along with her family members, ideated and conceptualised the garden design.

As her nephew who had come from Bangalore was looking for peace and medication, Buddha was installed, as other nephews and nieces wanted a place to chat and chill, a patch of green was there, while other family members wanted a waterfall around so there was a water fall too which flows down from a small hillock accommodating Shiva Lingam.

So who will look for an outing when a garden, water fall, medication centre, Radha Krisha garden everything is accommodated in this place?

Try visiting once and you will be surprised at the amazing creative minds who worked together to bring this patch in a small limited zone.

Jaivana, Jaipur’s mighty Cannon, created a pond after being fired just once!

0

Jaivana cannon has been never fired after the test-firing ever again and sits under a canopy at the Jaigarh ramparts for tourists to marvel at.

Jaivana, a largest canon of its time’  being housed at the Jaigarh Fort is world’s most efficient cannon.

As per historical stories,  this canon was test-fired only once and there were no such circumstances to utilise its might thereafter.

If folklores are to be believed, the shot ball used during test firing of canon had a fall in Chaksu village and the impact created a depression and made a pond which is still in use by the villagers.

Although the cannon ball’s range cannot be accurately determined now, but the magnificent canon with a barrel decorated with peacock and elephant motifs is in fact a gigantic one which could be swivelled with the force of four elephants.

Further, the boom noise, as the myth goes, caused a few women to have a miscarriage. It is said that the heat generated during the test firing was of such intensity that the soldiers handing the gunpowder had to take shelter in water tanks which was stored near the canon to prevent skin burn.

The canon was never fired after the test-firing ever again. It sits under a canopy at the Jaigarh ramparts for tourists to marvel at. Its presence is the proof of metallurgical and scientific knowledge that existed in the country in 18th century. And that is a reason enough to feel proud about.

Cheetahs, finally, to inhabitate the Kuno Palpur sanctuary in MP

0

Wild Cheetahs finally will be living in Kuno Palpur Sanctuary in India’s Madhya Pradesh. All those who matter in India have finally agreed to the plan.

Wild cheetah’s eight specimen (5 males and 3 females) are expected to land there by forthcoming Deepawali festival in November 2021. MP forest officials are cock-a-hoop.

Vincent Van Der Merme from Endangered Wildlife Trust in South Africa consented for Kuno to be the most ideal habitat. The Trust is poised to give the predators as a “free gift” to India. It was Chhattisgarh, then part of Madhya Pradesh, where the last Cheetah was spotted in late 40s. The species was declared “extinct” in India mid 50s.

All efforts to allow cheetahs relive in India’s wild

Dr. Ranjtsinhji, prince of Wankaner and an incredible wildlife expert, has been running an endless campaign to let Cheetahs relive in India’s wild. From government offices to Supreme Court, he knocked at each door to let decision makers listen to his reason. Some persons tried to oppose the move but smelt dust. Supreme Court authorized him last year to go ahead. Wildlife Institute of India’s Dean, Yadvendra Y. Jhala is the key scientist who led the team to assess various habitats to select one.

The extinct species in India ought to be introduced!

The plea was simple: an extinct species in India ought to be introduced! About 750 sq. km area of Kuno was at one time teeming with Tigers which became extinct a few decades ago. Leopards roam as lone predators ever since. It was cited as ideal forest to introduce Gir Lions. The Supreme Court supported the plea. However, Gujarat’s politico-administrative adamancy did not permit Lions. Ranthambhore Tigers often frequent Kuno, the extra population making its way out.

New guest to be accommodated warm welcome

Rs 14-crore are being disbursed by Ministry of Environment & Forest to MP Forest Department and Wildlife Institute of India to ready the habitat. It is to be barbed-wire-fenced to not let the new guest predator ram into village livestock and cause alarms at the very start. It is the fastest runner mammal on earth. Tourism practioners in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan, about 140 km from Kuno, have started calculating how to encash Kuno’s Cheetah through jeep safaris. In between flows the Chambal river offering Marsh crocodile, Gavial, Tortoise, Gangetic Dolphin, birds, etc., with the rare Indian Skimmer breeding on its islands.

Will Ranthambhore-Chambal-Kuno belt become a new wilderness hotspot?

The Ranthambhore-Chambal-Kuno belt has reasons to become a wilderness hot-spot. Who will bell the cat: to script a positive tourism centric conservation idiom. Ranthambhore’s tourism revenue is estimated to be Rs 110-crore annually. Nearly 90% of it is pocketed by hoteliers. The authorities are advised to invite a meaningful conservationist like Bittu Sahgal, founder editor of Sanctuary Asia magazine, to pilot such a project. His initiatives, especially “Mud on Boots” are globally recognized achievements to support stake-holders.
