In fact, it was first observed in 1987 at the Human Rights and Liberties Plaza at the Trocadéro in Paris, France, to honour those victims who faced the blues of poverty, hunger and violence.

However, in 1992, United Nations officially announced that International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, shall be observed on October 17 each year

This day was launched to bring up the problems faced by poverty-stricken people and to make this world a poverty-free world. Joseph Wresinski, Text Engraved on Original Commemorative Stone in Paris, reads, “Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated. To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty.”

The United Nations, four years after Wresinski’s death in 1992, officially announced October 17 as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2021.

Laal Maas: Get into the history of the origin of this delicious dish which makes anyone crave for more once they taste it.

Laal Maas is a famous dish from Rajasthan in India which has a special story behind its origin

Laal Maas is a Rajasthani food which is fiery and spicy.

Basically, a mutton curry, it also has an interesting history behind its origin.

It is said that khansamas, who were generally cooks at the kitchen of the Mewars of Rajasthan, had cooked laal maas for the first time.

They were best known for the invention of new dishes for kings everyday. The erstwhile royals, during wild hunting spree, used to take the best khansamas to feed them.

There was a strict rule for them that there should be no smell of unpleasant maas, hence khansamas started cooking this food with garlic, chilies and yogurt.

After that there was another demand of king to create a dish that had succulent meat, was hot and had a sweet after taste.

And that’s how the junglee laal maans was cooked.
The thing that makes  laal maans special and unique is ‘Laal’ (red) color, which comes from red chilies.
That particular red chilli is known as Mathania Chilli which is found in Mathaniya village of Jodhpur.

Laal Maans was famous among Royals and now we can get laal maans in any hotel or restaurant at Rajasthan.
If you are a huge fan of food then you can’t control or restrict yourself eating this

Chef Bulai Swain said: “Traditionally, laal maas was made with wild game meat, such as boar or deer and then is cooked in variety of Masalas and red chilli which then becomes deep red in colour, looks so delicious and mouthwatering.”

Some items like Dal-Baati-Churma and Bikaneri Bhujia have garnered both national and international popularity among foodies.
Laal Maas is no different and hence you should try it once when you are in kings land which is Rajasthan.
