World Boss Day is celebrated each year on October 16 with an aim of highlighting the importance and need of a successful leader in bringing out a better organization.

On World Boss Day, let’s wish our boss and see what is the significance and history of this day.

BOSS DAY 2021 HISTORY

The National Boss Day started in the year 1958 and is counted as a secular holiday. Patricia Bays Haroski, the then secretary in Deerfield, for State Farm Insurance Company in Illinois, registered this day with the US Chamber of Commerce as National Boss’s Day.

The date was chosen as October 16th as it was her father’s birthday who was her employer there.

In 1962, Otto Kerner, the Illinois Governor, officially recognized the Day and in the year 1979, Boss’s Day cards were launched by Hallmark.

BOSS DAY 2021 SIGNIFICANCE

On October 16, National Boss’ Day, also called as National Boss Day or Bosses Day, is celebrated across the world showing appreciation and gratefulness to bosses.

As everybody has a boss in some way or the other, they realize how to put their best representatives forward and lead with the certainty that they grow. So National Boss Day comes as a reminder of the hard work which a boss gets into and makes the working environment swift and smooth for the employees. The day aims at thanking all bosses who work tirelessly in bringing the best out of their employees.

BOSS DAY CELEBRATION?

The Boss Day extends an opportunity to thank bosses and let them know they’re valued. While some people gift their bosses with flowers, cards, gift certificates, and more on Boss Day, the others simply appreciate the working of their seniors and wish them for a great future.
