History of Mahavir Jayanti 2021:

Lord Mahavira was the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism who was known  as Vardhamana. He. Born in the 6th century BCE in Bihar, he was born to queen Trishala and king Siddhartha on the 13th day of the bright half of the moon, in Chaitra month.

He shared a high interest in meditation and in Jainism and at the age of 30, he took the spiritual path and left his throne to practice Jainism.

*Ahimsa (Non-Violence)– Being a firm believer, he always wished that people should follow the path of non-violence.
*Satya (Truth)– He believed in telling the truth always and being truthful.

*Brahmacharya (chastity)– He believed that people should avoid in indulging in sensual pleasures.
*Aparigraha (non-attachment) — He believed that people should not attach to non-material things

Chaiti Chhath Puja 2022 Date

This year, the auspicious festival of Chaiti Chhath started on April 5 and shall conclude on April 8th, 2022 with Arghya to the rising sun.

Day 1: Nahay Khay ( April 5)

On the very first day of the auspicious 4-day festival is Nahay Khay when the devotees who performing Chhath and others take dip in holy waters of Gange and cook a meal for the day that is the prasad on that day.

Day 2: Kharna (April 6)

On second day of festival, people take a holy dip in Ganges, and prepare Kharna Kheer. They perform puja of Chhathi Mata and eat the Kheer as Prasad. On this day, many people usually consume a single meal without any salt.

Day 3: Pahla Arhgya or Sandhya Arghya (April 7)

On this day, devotees observe a day-long fast. On this day, in the evening at the time of sun set, devotees offer Arghya to the setting Sun and continue their fast throughout the night.

Day 4: Parana or Usha Arghya (April 8)

On 4th day and last day of the Chaiti Chhath, devotees offer Arghya to the rising sun and break their long 36 hours fast by eating Prasad. The sunrise timing for the last day of Chhath is 6:40 am

A source told IndiaToday.in that Ranbir and Alia have planned their honeymoon. “Ranbir and Alia have decided to enjoy their honeymoon in South Africa. After celebrating the New Year abroad, the couple has planned to take a safari in Africa again,” the source claimed.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani is now the eighth richest person in the world with $109 billion net worth.

The Indian tycoon, who has ports, mines and green energy in the list of his businesses, is the latest whose fortune reached the $100 billion mark. 

He has become the world’s biggest gainer and joins nine other members of the elite group going up almost $24 billion this year. The other countryman Mukesh Ambani has now dropped slightly below it to $99 billion, says the Bloomberg Billionaires Index

He has overtaken Oracle’s Larry Ellison and former Micosoft CEO Steve Ballmer, says the Bloomberg’s real-time billionaires index.

This year Adani‘s net worth increased by around USD 32 billion, which is the highest in the list of one-year wealth of the top rich.

The Adani Group controls companies range from ports and aerospace to thermal energy and coal.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani meanwhile slipped to 11th position on the index, with $97.7 billion fortune. He added over $7.72 billion to his wealth so far this year, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

According to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires list, the Adani group chief stands at 9th position with $109.8 billion net worth.

Mukesh Ambani continued to grab the 10th slot on the Forbes‘ richest individuals in the world list with $98.8 billion fortune.

In last few months, Adani and Ambani have been swapping their positions for the top spot on some of the billionaire indexes.

In recent past, the way of using SIM cards in mobiles has changed and companies are moving to e-SIMs, leaving besides the use of physical SIM cards.

A report said that multiple unable profiles (MEP) are being tested in Android 13. With this function, multiple profiles can be run or activated on the same e-SIM card. 

e-SIM is an embedded subscriber identity module that works virtually on any mobile. A software-based SIM, it can be updated soon on the Android 13 version somewhere in the month of July in the stable version.

Koo launches self verification feature…

Koo, the microblogging and social media app, has launched a voluntary self-verification feature, which will allow its users to self-verify their profile on the platform by using their government-approved ID card.

This new feature empowers users to prove the authenticity of their accounts on the platform, giving credibility to the thoughts and opinions that they share.

Voluntary self-verification promotes visibility of genuine voices.

A visible marker in the form of a green tick will identify an account as being self-verified.

Vinay Mohan Kwatra, the country’s ambassador to Nepal, has been announced as India’s next Foreign Secretary. He will be taking charge after Harsh Vardhan Shringla retires on 30th April.

Who is Vinay Mohan Kwatra

Vinay Mohan Kwatra is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer with has 32 years of experience working in a range of assignments. From 2015 to 2017, he has worked in the Prime Minister’s office and then went to France as the ambassador of India.

Working in the permanent mission of India

In 1988, a he served as the Permanent Mission of India’s third secretary after joining the IFS and later became the second secretary which he served till 1993. He handled work related to the Human Rights Commission, and UN specialized agencies and had also obtained a diploma in International Relations from the Graduate School of International Studies located in Geneva.

Other postings

He served as a desk officer dealing with the United Nations between the years from 1993 to 2003, and also worked in diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan and South Africa. He had also served as the counsellor and was later promoted as the deputy chief of mission in India’s Beijing embassy between the year’s 2003 to 2006. He has also represented the country at the SAARC Secretariat in Nepal as the head of the Trade, Finance Bureau, and Economy.

Vinay Mohan Kwatra served as the minister (Commerce) in the embassy located in Washington.
