 Jaipur’s biggest Diwali Milan ceremony was organized by Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha and various social and business organizations at Mughal Garden, Entertainment Paradise (EP), Jawahar Circle, in which more than 10,000 Jaipurites participated.

President of Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha, Pt. Suresh Mishra said that more than 10000 Jaipurites participated in the biggest Diwali Milan function program of Jaipur. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot was the Chief Guest of the function.

Himadri, ‘the abode of snow’, is India’s first research station located at the International Arctic Research base, NyÅlesund, Svalbard, Norway.

 Located at a distance of 1,200 kilometres from the North Pole, it was inaugurated on the 1st July, 2008 by Kapil Sibal the-then Hon. Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, in the presence of dignitaries from Norway, UK, Germany and other countries besides India. 

This station was opened looking at the sustained interest shown by Indian scientists in pursuing scientific studies in the Arctic. Himadri provides extensive field and laboratory support required for pursuing research activities in the Arctic. NASA, in a newly released satellite image, said the sun was seen ‘smiling.

This smiling sun can be seen in a new image from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory.

The photo was captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, a program working to understand the changes in the Sun’s radiation output.

Sharing the snap on Twitter, @NASASun wrote: “Say cheese! Today, #NASA‘s Solar Dynamics Observatory caught the Sun “smiling.”

“Seen in ultraviolet light, these dark patches on the Sun are known as coronal holes and are regions where fast solar wind gushes out into space.”

The “eyes” and “mouth” on the surface of the sun are coronal holes.

Much-awaited film Adipurush release postponed to summers

The release date of much awaited film Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan’s has been changed. Earlier this film was scheduled to be released on January 12, but now the makers have made up their mind to postpone the film. With this decision, Adipurush will now be released in the summer. According to the news, the makers have taken this decision to avoid box office clash.

Let us tell you that on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, many big films are being released. 

Amidst all these big films, Adipurush does not get much screens in the South, which is why the makers have made up their mind to change the release date of the film. Apart from this, the makers do not want to clash with these big films at the box office.

According to media reports, now the film will be released in the coming summer. Although till now the makers have not made anything official regarding the new release date of the film, it is expected that soon the makers will confirm the new release date of the film.

Adipurush’s teaser was launched some time back. However, the film landed in controversy after the teaser surfaced. Adipurush has been accused of hurting the sentiments of the people. Apart from this, the film was trolled for bad VFX.

The establishment of Terai Elephant Reserve in Uttar Pradesh has finally been approved. Let’s know what it is and how it works…

The Terai Elephant Reserve, spanning across 3,049 sq km area, will be the 33rd elephant reserve to be set up in India. It will be in the joint forest regions of Dudhwa and Piliphit tiger reserves involved in the conservation of tiger, Asian elephant, swamp deer and one-horned rhinoceros.  

This comes as the third elephant reserve to get approval from the Union Environment Ministry in the past three months under Project Elephant, with the other two being Lemru in Chhattisgarh and Agasthymalai in Tamil Nadu.

The establishment of the new elephant reserve will help conserve the trans-boundary migration of elephant populations. It will help protect the neighbouring villages in the Indo-Nepal border area of Uttar Pradesh. It will also help in the management of grassland and elephant corridor in Dudhwa and Piliphit tiger reserves. 

The Central Government launched Project Elephant in 1992 to provide financial and technical aid to states for the protection of free-ranging population of wild Asian elephants. This centrally sponsored scheme aims to ensure long-term survival of Asian elephants in their natural habitats by protecting them, their habitats and migration corridors.

Tallest Shiv statue comes in Nathdwara in Rajasthan

A 369-foot-tall Shiva statue called “Viswas Swaroopam” has been built in Nathdwara, Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district.

The statue is said to be the highest Shiva statue in the entire world. The Key Points of the statue are:

  • The Viswas Swaroopam statue was built by Tat Padam Sansthan and is located 45 kilometres from Udaipur.
  • After the statue’s inauguration, a number of religious, spiritual, and cultural events will be organised over nine days, from October 29 to November 6, according to Madan Paliwal, the chairman of the Miraj company and a trustee for the Sansthan.
  • Throughout the nine days, religious preacher Morari Bapu will also recite the Ram Katha.

Viswas Swaroopam, The Shiva statue:

The ViswasSwaroopam monument,  positioned on a mountaintop over a region of 51 bighas  is designed in a meditative pose, is believed to be visible from 20 kilometres away.

According to Jaiprakash Mali, the program’s spokeswoman, the statue has been illuminated with special lights so that it can be seen clearly at night as well.

Its construction, which took ten years to complete, involved the usage of three thousand tonnes of steel, iron, concrete, and sand, as well as 2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of concrete.

According to Mali, the Viswas Swaroopam statue was built to last 250 years and can withstand winds of up to 250 kmph.

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the government has initiated several steps to celebrate unsung tribal heroes of the freedom struggle. These include declaring 15th November (birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda) as ‘Janjatiya Guarav Divas’, setting up tribal museums across the country etc to recognise the contribution of tribal people to society and increase awareness about their sacrifices in the freedom struggle.

In yet another step in this direction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a public programme – ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’ at Mangarh Hill, Banswara, Rajasthan, to pay homage to the sacrifices of the unsung tribal heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle. During the programme, Prime Minister will also pay homage to Bhil freedom fighter Shri Govind Guru and also address a gathering of Bhil Adivasis and other tribal population of the region.
