Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha to donate 50% of his wealth

The co-founder of Zerodha has signed to pledge the social cause of giving pledge, joining many people across the globe to donate 50% of his wealth. This pledge would be donated to many causes, including healthcare, education, and climate change.

In 2010, the giving pledge was an initiative which was launched by Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and Merinda French Gates.

Nikhil Kamath stated, “I am committed to positively impacting the world. The mission of creating a more equitable society aligns with my values and aspirations’’

Nikhil is the only person who has signed up for the initiative this year. Other people who have signed up for this initiative in the past were Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, Wipro chairperson Azim Premji, and Vedanta chairman Anil Agarwal.

For the initiative, nearly 241 business personalities have signed up for the cause including co-founder Reid Hoffman, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Canva co-founders Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht from 29 other countries.

Jodhpur, a city known for its enchanting temples and rich heritage, is set to add another architectural gem to its crown—the magnificent Akshardham Temple. Over the past five years, this extraordinary temple has been under construction in the Sursagar region of Kali Beri. With its unique features and captivating stories, the Akshardham Temple promises to be a truly exceptional addition to the list of revered temples in Jodhpur.

What sets the Akshardham Temple apart is its innovative use of materials. Unlike traditional temples, the pillars of this temple will be crafted from glass fibers instead of iron. This pioneering approach not only adds a touch of modernity to the temple’s design but also ensures its structural integrity and durability. The temple is being constructed by the Bochas resident Akshardham Purushotam Swaminarayan Committee, with more than 3000 stones meticulously engraved to adorn its facade. Currently, 80% of the work is completed, with 40% of the temple’s overall construction finished.

The grandeur of the Akshardham Temple is evident in its remarkable architectural elements. The temple will feature a shikhara, or spire, reaching a height of 125 feet, while incorporating Jodhpur stones to create a breezy atmosphere that allows air to flow through the temple. This distinct choice of stones ensures a unique aesthetic and a serene environment for devotees.

While over 150 Akshardham Temples have been constructed nationwide, the Jodhpur Akshardham Temple holds a special place as the first one to be made solely with Jodhpuri Stones. The pillars of the temple are being created using GFRG (Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum) technology, combining glass, fiber, and gypsum for a stunning visual effect. The temple’s main mandap is adorned with intricate carvings, and on the upper floor, visitors will find statues of prominent gods and goddesses, including Lord Ram and Lord Shiva. At the heart of the temple, a significant stone serves as a symbolic centerpiece.

The temple also caters to the needs of its visitors, with a spacious hall capable of accommodating up to 3000 people for darshan, or holy viewing. The hall is designed without pillars, allowing an unobstructed view of the sanctum. Additionally, a stage measuring 100*30 feet has been created for sants (spiritual leaders), complete with 14 air conditioning units and 12 helicopter fans to ensure comfort during gatherings.

Built following the principles of the Sompura shastra, a revered architectural tradition, the Jodhpur Akshardham Temple boasts 225 meticulously crafted pillars, each placed at the same distance from one another. These pillars showcase a unique style, with a broad base tapering towards the top in the Sirohi Ghat fashion, distinguishing them from previous temples that followed the Varghaakar style.

Overseeing the engineering work of the temple for the past five years is engineer Vimal Tak. He shared that construction began in 2018, and extensive research was conducted for three years to select the perfect stones for the temple. The estimated completion time for the temple is within the next 1.5 years, making it an eagerly anticipated landmark for both locals and visitors.

To cater to the needs of devotees, an automated Annapurna Kitchen has been established within the temple complex. Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, this kitchen can prepare food for an impressive 20,000 people at once, with seating available for 500 individuals. The temple complex also includes a kitchen block, service building, and a guest house. Spread across 40 acres, the premises features a beautifully developed 15-acre garden, offering a serene space for children to play. The four-story guest house, which is 80% complete, provides 70 rooms to accommodate approximately 350 devotees.

In addition to its architectural splendor, the Akshardham Temple aims to support the youth by establishing rehabilitation centers to help them overcome life-destroying addictions. These centers will connect the younger generation with the power of prayer and motivate them towards a virtuous lifestyle with the guidance of spiritual leaders.

The anticipation for filmmaker Om Raut’s grand epic, Adipurush, reaches new heights as the final trailer was unveiled on Tuesday, 6th June. Starring Kriti Sanon, Prabhas, and Saif Ali Khan, the trailer showcases a visually stunning and captivating glimpse into the highly-awaited film. With its release in 3D format scheduled for June 16, the movie promises to transport audiences into the world of the Ramayana like never before.

Compared to the previously released teaser, which faced criticism for its VFX and animation, the new trailer impresses on multiple levels. The over two-minute-long video establishes the storyline of the Ramayana, with Kriti Sanon portraying Janaki and Saif Ali Khan essaying the role of Lankesh. Prabhas shines as Raghava, showcasing his prowess on the battlefield. While the visuals in the first half of the trailer are remarkable, there is a slight dip in the quality of visual effects towards the end.

Adipurush is set to release in five different languages across India, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Language knows no barriers. Ghazala has made a remarkable statement about that. A student of Masters, Ghazala has made a distinct name on the campus with her dedication to learning the language. Ghazala’s name was announced for the Gold Medal ay before Covid 19. However, she was not awarded due to the precautions implied by the government.

Prof Shashi Shukla during a faculty-level medal distribution ceremony, honored Ghazala with the awards for being the best student in Masters in Sanskrit. Ghazala has a wide knowledge of 5 languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, and Sanskrit. It is a part of honor as she is the daughter of Daily Wager.

Ghazala stated, “These medals are won not by me but by my brothers — Shadab and Nayab — who left school and began working in a garage at the age of 13 and 10 years respectively so that I could continue to study”

Therefore, due to her dedication to the language she was a famous person on the campus. She was fluent in Sanskrit which gave her a lot of opportunities to showcase her talent. Ghazala used to recite Sanskrit Shlokas, Gayatri Mantra, and Saraswati Vandana during the cultural programs organized by the university.

Apple offered a lot of new interfaces in their worldwide developer conversation (WWDC) 2023. In the event, Apple launched “Vision Pro” which is a mixed reality headset. The headset will allow a new prospect for a real pro.

While introducing Tim Cook described “vision pro” as “the first Apple product you look through, not at. Here is all you need to know about it.”

The vision pro is unparalleled by other devices as it completely relies on the voice, looks, and hands. Therefore, it would not have any controller which will be a whole new standard for playing games, work, and communication.

Vision Pro will have an exquisite pair of goggles which is “spatial computing.” Cook described the goggles as one of the pair which will allow other people to see the eyes of the user.

There are many times when a wearer goes deeper into the augmentation reality. However, a feature known as “Digital Crown” will be installed in the ‘Vision Pro’ which will determine how deep a wearer can be in their virtual reality and Augmentation reality (AI). Vision Pro will have gears that will work with many apps simultaneously.

Vision iOS will be a feat in the device which will allow the user to interface with 3D images and movies.

The device will be availed from early next year. One can buy the device for $3,499 (approx. ₹2.88 lakh).

Odisha train accident: Some major reasons for train accidents in India

Train accidents are one of the most heartbreaking events that unfolds in a nation. These train accidents bring remorse and sorrow that lives within our lives for a very long part of life. Thus, these events leave an impact on the nation.

The recent Odisha train tragedy shook the whole nation. In the tragic evet 261 people were found dead around 900 people were found injured. The triple train accident have been similar to many other accidents that took place.

However, the derailment of trains is not the first of its kind. Many accidents took place which revolved around derailment.

In Khanna, Punjab, three coaches of the Frontier Golden Temple Mail were involved in an accident with the Jammu Tawi–Sealdah Express, on 26th November 1998. In the accident around 212 people were found dead.

Therefore, the major reasons that involve train accidents are derailment, level crossing accidents, collisions, and fire.

Nonetheless, there is no certain condition that determines the cause of train accidents. Thus, there are many reasons, some of the reasons are sabotage, defective machinery, human mistakes, and environmental or contextual factors.
