Prime Minister Narendra Modi was stuck on farmers block flyover for over 15-20 minutes. His convoy was stopped by protestors on his way to launch development schemes for welfare of Punjab according to the ministry of home affairs.

PM Modi’s car remained stuck on the flyover for 15-20 minutes and images of the PM’s cavalcade stuck on the flyover showed private cars approaching the cavalcade, which was a major security lapse.

Earlier PM Modi was slated to go the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala by helicopter but due to heavy rain and poor weather, it was decided that he would travel 2 hours by roads.

His travel was proceeded after getting confirmation of security arrangements by the DGP Punjab Police.

PM’s schedule and travel plan were already  well communicated in advance to the Punjab government. As per procedure, they have to make necessary arrangements for logistics, security as well as keep a contingency plan ready. Also, as per the contingency plan, the Punjab government has to deploy additional security to secure any movement by road, which was clearly not deployed and resulted in a major security breach.
