Lunar Eclipse 2021 Time in India: The celestial event coincides with this year’s only total lunar eclipse, the first since January 2019.

During the lunar eclipse, the Moon will be located on the Earth’s opposite side on May 26 and will be fully illuminated at 6:13 am during the Central Daylight Time (CDT), which will be around 4 pm at the Indian Standard Time (IST). Observers all over the world will be able to view the supermoon throughout the night if the sky is clear.

Can we watch lunar eclipse with bare eyes

As such, there is no need to have special glasses required to watch the lunar eclipse and is completely safe to watch all the phases of the lunar eclipse with bare eyes. However, one needs to avoid look at the lunar eclipse with bare eyes is when it’s not that far away from the sun.

There is a myth that says one shouldn’t sleep during a solar eclipse. Studies say that the solar eclipse causes daytime darkness, which can affect sleep pattern. If it is psychological or physical, one needs to find it out. 

There is also a belief that pregnant women should not sleep during a lunar or solar eclipse for it may harm the unborn baby. However, yet again, there is no scientific evidence to back this statement. Further, there is no research behind the myth linking eclipse with insomnia. These superstitions and beliefs have been a part of our lives since thousands of years and it becomes hard to digest that they might be false.
