A Jaipur student Avani Malhotra has received the highest package of 64.61 lakhs in Microsoft in the placement season of IIM Sambalpur.
In fact, in a unique case, IIM Sambalpur has provided 100% placement to its MBA (2021-2023) batch and the top two students who got the highest package jobs are from Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.
Avani Malhotra from Jaipur has successfully cleared 5-6 rounds of interview conducted by Microsoft during her college placement and got selected on the basis of her management skills and her experience of working with Infosys for three years. She is B.Tech in Computer Science and this helped her to impress the Microsoft team.
Avni Malhotra said, “I am really thankful to IIM Sambalpur and the faculty who trained me during this difficult journey. I would like to give the credit of my success to my parents. My mother being a teacher has always inculcated the habits of perfection in me and father being a doctor has inspired me to master my communication skills.”

The average salary is Rs 16.64 lakhs per annum and the average salary for MBA batch 2021-2023 is Rs 16 lakhs per annum. However, the average salary for female students is Rs 18.25 lakh per annum. The average salary for the top 10 students of the batch is Rs 31.69 lakh per annum. Major recruiters include Microsoft, Vedanta, Tolaram, Amul, Adani, EY, Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte and Amazon etc.
