Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has announced an investment of Rs 600 crore to establish an integrated superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana, marking a significant step towards strengthening India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The upcoming plant, one of the country’s few integrated facilities for nickel-based superalloys, is expected to support domestic production of critical materials used in aircraft engines, gas turbines and defence applications while reducing dependence on imports.
Rs 600 crore integrated superalloy plant in Telangana
The manufacturing facility will be developed over 50 acres at Hardware Park near Hyderabad International Airport, a key industrial hub in Telangana. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 5,000 tonnes and manufacture a range of high-value products, including:
- Nickel-based superalloy round bars
- Wires
- Forgings
- Castings
- Tungsten carbide powders
Commercial production is scheduled to begin in January 2028.
Funding and project leadership
The announcement comes days after Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group raised $40 million (around ₹400 crore) in a funding round led by Norwest and Skegen Asset Management. The project will be led by Dr. S.K. Jha, former Chairman and Managing Director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), a public sector enterprise known for manufacturing special alloys and strategic materials for India’s defence sector.
Why nickel-based superalloys matter
Nickel-based superalloys are high-performance materials capable of retaining their strength and corrosion resistance under extreme temperatures and mechanical stress.
These specialised alloys are widely used in:
- Jet engine components
- Gas turbines
- Aerospace structures

Because of their strategic importance, India has relied heavily on imports for such materials. The new Telangana facility aims to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities and support the government’s push for self-reliance in critical technologies.
