The Kumbh Mela, occurring every 12 years in Prayagraj, is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology. It commemorates the celestial battle between gods and demons over the divine nectar of immortality, which spilled at four sacred sites, including Prayagraj. The alignment of the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter determines its timing, adding astronomical and spiritual significance.
The 2025 Mela is expected to see record participation, with extensive preparations for crowd management, accommodation, and infrastructure. The Uttar Pradesh government has prioritized safety and amenities, ensuring seamless experiences for pilgrims.
