Priyanshi Choudhary, student of Saksham Sanchar Foundation shared all the information she got to know on visiting Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha under the join agies of AWWA and SSf.
The Rajasthan Assembly is a majestic building that stands as a symbol of responsibility to the people of Rajasthan. Its impressive design and robust policies work together to improve society and the lives of its citizens. As the unicameral legislature of the state, the Vidhan Sabha comprises 200 seats, currently with five vacancies. The Speaker of the Assembly is Vasudev Devnani from the BJP.
The last elections were held in November 2023, and the elected representatives, MLAs, and CM, serve as the voice of the people, bringing their concerns to the Assembly for resolution. The daily sessions begin at 11:00 AM with a questioning hour, where opposition parties pose questions to the Speaker. These questions are known as ‘starred questions.’
Today’s discussions focused on pressing issues like electricity, drinkable water, education, and more. It was an enlightening experience to learn about the bill-passing process and how our problems reach the government through democratic means. This embodies the spirit of fair democracy in a great nation like India.
