Tokyo Olympics: Lovlina Borgohain to bring 2nd medal to India as she enters boxing semi-final

Lovlina Borgohain has assured herself of at least winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. She will be the third Indian boxer to bring an Olympic medal  home after Vijender Singh and Mary Kom

Lovlina Borgohain has made history by assuring India of getting a second medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

She has defeated former world champion Chen Nien-Chin of Chinese Taipei during the quarter-final of the Women’s Welterweight boxing at the Kokukigan Arena on Friday.

This 23-year-old boxer from Assam played with class and fearlessness. She did outpunch her senior opponent from Taiwan by scoring 4-1 in the quarter-final match.

Lovlina Borgohain went through the semi-finals, this assuring herself of at least a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. She is the third Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal after Vijender Singh and Mary Kom
