13th edition of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will start from 5th October, 2023

The 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is set to take place in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023. The teams that have secured direct qualification for the World Cup include the host nation India, along with Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa. These teams earned their spots through their performance in the 2020-2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. The remaining two teams will be determined through the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers currently being held in Zimbabwe.

The tournament will kick off with the opening match on October 5 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, has announced that the final match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will also be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, adding to the significance of the venue.

Apart from the opening and final matches, the first semi-final is scheduled to take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, while the second semi-final will be held at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. These iconic venues are sure to witness some intense battles as the teams fight for a place in the finals.

A total of 10 venues across India have been selected to host the matches during the ICC World Cup 2023. These venues include Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. In addition to these, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will also host warm-up matches from September 29 to October 3, setting the stage for the thrilling competition ahead.
