Yashasvi Jaiswal is a young Indian cricketer from Suriyawan, Uttar Pradesh. He is a left-handed opening batsman and a spin bowler in addition. Jaiswal was born on 28 December, 2001 as the fourth children of six children. Son of an owner of a small hardware store, Bhupendra Jaiswal. At the age of ten, he moved to Dadar, Mumbai to reciv cricket training at Azad Maidan.

As the maidan was far away, he relocated to a near place where he got accommodation in a dairy shop in return of low grade work. Soon, he was ejected by the shopkeeper as he was unable to provide much help to the shopkeeper because of his cricket training. Having no place of his own, Jaiswal stayed in a tent with the groundsmen at the Maidan, where he often slept hungry and used to sold panipuri for a living. After living in tents for three years, Jaiswal’s cricket talent was spotted in December 2013 by Jwala Singh, who ran a cricket academy who tool him under his wing and provided him a place to stay and became his legal guardian.

Jaiswal started playing cricket at a very young age, and in 2015, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming a cricterer. He started playing for the local teams and worked his way up to the Mumbai U-19 team. In 2019, he made his debut for the India U-19 team and played a crucial role in India’s successful campaign in the U-19 World Cup.

Yashasvi’s cricket journey is an inspiration to many. Coming from a humble background, he has gone through a lot of struggles to achieve his dreams. He was in the news for making his entry into the U-19 team for the Sri Lankan tour in August.  In the first two matches he scored a 15 and 1 which people thought getting dropped before starting but his 114 in the final helped him cement his place.

Jaiswal’s breakthrough moment came in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL), where he was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals franchise. He became the youngest player to score a fifty in the IPL when he scored 50 against the Chennai Super Kings.

In the recent matches of IPL he blasted the ground with the fastest IPL 50 off in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Jaiswal smashed seven fours and three sixes in a row of  just 13 balls. This is second fastest 50 in T20 cricket. The record of fastest 50 was previously held by KL Rahul who scored a 50 in 14 balls. Yusuf Pathan was third on the list with 50 in 15 balls.

Jaiswal is known for his aggressive batting style and his ability to hit big shots. He has also shown promising skills with his spin bowling. He has been compared to the likes of former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag, for his fearless and attacking approach to batting.

Despite his young age, Jaiswal has already achieved a lot in his career and is considered one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket. He is expected to play a big role in India’s future cricketing plans and has already garnered a lot of attention from cricket fans around the world.
