World’s battle with HIV AIDS: The World AIDS Day

Each year on December 1, people worldwide acknowledge World AIDS Day for health concerns. This comes as an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV as well as to stand in solidarity with those living with HIV. Plus, to memorialize those who have died from AIDS.

In 1987, World Aids Day was proposed, among local and state governments, international organizations, and private individuals, where the focus was mainly on promoting and communicating the concept of AIDS and HIV. The idea was generated by two UN Officials, Thomas Netter, and James W. Bunn, in Geneva in, Switzerland.

UN officials later shared the idea with the director of the global program on AIDS, Dr. Jonathan Mann.

He was satisfied and moved by the idea of the UN officials. From there on, every year, people observe World AIDS day on December 1.

The theme for World AIDS Day 2022 is “Rock the Ribbon.”

However, the worldwide response people are giving to such serious illnesses is at a dangerous stake. Although with the spread of HIV, people are frequently found putting their life in jeopardy. HIV AIDS still holds a risky stage in the global epidemic as many issues affect people’s lives. Many flaws influence the scenario, which is inequality, including divisions and issues related to human rights.

There are plenty of divergences related to HIV AIDS, which can work as fuel to encourage misinformation. Injustices are hindering the struggle to eliminate AIDS, and UNAIDS is appealing to all to rectify that hindered injustice on World AIDS Day, December 1.

In reports, it observed that in the year 2021, around 38.4 million people worldwide, the HIV is carried by over. Nonetheless the history and development of the disease since 1984, has reached many levels of jeopardy in human history.

It is also stated that in the United Kingdom, an HIV diagnosis receives an average of 4,139 persons yearly.

Thus, World Aids day is mainly acknowledged to eradicate any misconception, promote more awareness, and fund financial development and education.
