
Subhash Chandra Bose is remembered as a great freedom fighter who rebelled against the British forces and helped India achieve independence. His patriotism and resolution has been an inspiration for many.
‘Give me your blood, and I shall give you freedom’ is his famous quote which was used to inspire people to make India free.
Bose was a participant of the non-cooperation movement and a leader of the Indian National Congress known for his advocacy and socialist policies. Called as Netaji, he is well known for his role in India’s independence movement.
He was the President of the Indian National Congress from 1938 to 1939.
To honour his contribution to the story of India’s independence, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birthday is celebrated across the country on January 23, every year.

Born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha to Janki Nath Bose and Prabhabati Bose, he was 9th child of his parents along 13 other the siblings. His father, Janki Nath Bose, was a famous lawyer while his mother, Prabhabati Bose, was a religious lady.
