The day after Janmashtami, the sacred atmosphere at Gupta Vrindavan Dham came alive with devotion, music and spiritual celebration as devotees gathered to mark the 130th divine appearance day of Vishwaguru Srila Prabhupada, observed as the Vyasa-Puja festival.
From the morning onward, the temple premises reverberated with the chanting of Harinam Sankirtan, creating an atmosphere of devotion and spiritual fervour. Devotees from different backgrounds joined the celebrations, offering prayers, singing devotional songs and expressing their gratitude to Srila Prabhupada, whose teachings and spiritual legacy continue to inspire devotees across the world.
The centrepiece of the celebrations was the Vyasa-Puja ceremony, held at the temple in the evening. The ceremony featured the grand Maha-Abhishek of Srila Prabhupada, as thousands of devotees gathered to pay their respects and offer heartfelt prayers and Vyasa-Puja tributes.
Adding an international dimension to the occasion, a special Vyasa-Puja offering book, featuring tributes contributed by devotees from different countries and written in various languages, was dedicated to Srila Prabhupada. The compilation reflected the global reach of his spiritual teachings and the deep bond shared by his followers across cultures and continents.
The spirit of devotion was also expressed through food offerings, with devotees lovingly preparing and offering 1,008 special bhoga items to Srila Prabhupada. The elaborate offering became one of the highlights of the festivities, reflecting both the scale of the celebration and the personal devotion of those who participated.
The celebrations continued with a grand Palki Yatra, as the palanquin procession moved amid chanting and devotional music. This was followed by the Maha-Abhishek, Harinam Sankirtan, Guru-Puja and Maha-Aarti, bringing together devotees in an atmosphere charged with spiritual enthusiasm.
As the day progressed, the temple remained immersed in the sound of the holy name. The continuous Harinam Sankirtan, devotional offerings and collective prayers transformed Gupta Vrindavan Dham into a vibrant centre of spiritual celebration.
For the devotees gathered there, the Vyasa-Puja festival was more than a commemorative occasion. It became an expression of gratitude, faith and devotion to Srila Prabhupada and a celebration of the enduring spiritual tradition he carried to people across the world.
