Electronics & IT Ministry Hosts First Digital India Future SKILLS Summit In Guwahati

The collaborative effort between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Institute of Electronics and IT (NIELIT) has led to the organization of the Future Skills Summit in Guwahati. Inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the summit focuses on gathering young Indians, thought leaders, industry experts, policymakers, educators, and technology enthusiasts to strategize and catalyse the development of future-ready talent for both India and the global landscape.

Embracing Technological Advancements

The summit highlights the repercussions of rapid digitization on a global scale, emphasizing emerging opportunities for young Indians in cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Semiconductors, Robotics, and Cybersecurity. These technological advancements offer substantial prospects for the country’s youth to excel in a digitally-driven world.

Vision and Objectives

In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to shape India into a global talent hub, the summit’s primary goal is to formulate a roadmap leveraging emerging technologies and promoting partnerships with industry and academic institutes across the nation. The anticipation includes over 20 strategic collaborations between NIELIT and prominent entities such as Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, IIM Raipur, IIITM Gwalior, Wipro, among others.

The summit includes four panel discussions on pivotal themes: Semicon India, India AI, Cyber Security & Emerging Technologies, and Digital India’s Talent for the Global Workforce. Renowned experts and industry leaders will actively participate in these discussions, providing valuable insights and strategies for cultivating future skills essential to navigating the dynamic landscape of technology.
