As the nation fights the worst ever battle with the unseen enemy in form of COVID-19, Indian Air Force continues its efforts towards COVID 19 relief.

One C-17 of Indian Air Force got airborne at 2 am on AprIL 24, 21 from Hindan Air Base for Changi International Airport, Singapore. The aircraft arrived at Singapore at 0745 am. After loading 4 empty cryogenic oxygen containers, it departed Singapore and is enroute to Panagarh air base for offloading of these containers.

Another C-17 of Indian Air Force was airborne from Hindan air base at 08:00 am for Pune air base. The aircraft arrived at Pune at 10:00 am. The jet was loaded with 2 empty cryogenic oxygen container trucks which were then flown to Jamnagar air base. The same C17 aircraft is currently on its second shuttle from Pune to Jamnagar, with a load of 2 more empty containers.

One C17 transported two empty containers from Jodhpur to Jamnagar earlier in the day on Sunday.

One IAF Chinook helicopter and one An32 transport aircraft took COVID testing equipment from Jammu to Leh and from Jammu to Kargil, respectively. The equipment consisted of Bio Safety cabinets, centrifuges and stabalisers. These machines have been made by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and now given to UT of Ladakh to enhance testing.

COVID-19 vaccines in India: Covishield & Covaxin’s price for 18+ and under 45 population

Covishield and Covaxin, the two COVID-19 vaccines in India, have announced new pricing for those above 18 and under 45

India has started vaccination drive with two vaccines available in the nation which include Covishield and Covaxin.

For people above 45 years, Covishield (by Serum Institute of India) and Covaxin (by Bharat Biotech)  are available free of cost at government vaccination centres.

At private hospitals, people who are 45 and above could get either vaccine for Rs 250.

For above 18 and under 45

The Serum Institute of India (SII) said the Covishield vaccine would be sold at a price of Rs 600 per dose to private hospitals and Rs 400 per dose to state governments.

While some states have announced that anybody above the age of 18 will receive a free vaccination. However, others may fix a price.

Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Chhattisgarh have announced to give free shots of vaccine to people.

If you are below 45 (but above 18) and want to get a Covishield shot at a private hospital, you will be able to get the vaccine if you pay an amount which is likely to be Rs 600 + any additional cost that the hospital chooses to levy along with tax.

“Vaccination shall continue as before in Govt. of India vaccination centres, provided free of cost to the eligible population as defined earlier i.e. Health Care Workers (HCWs), Front Line Workers (FLWs) and all people above 45 years of age.”

Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will be available to state governments at 600 a dose and private hospitals at 1,200 a dose, the Hyderabad-based company said on Saturday.

COVID Vaccination: India stands fastest with 13 crore vaccinated in 99 days

India has become the fastest country to administer a total of 14 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine in a time span of just 99 days, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

The ministry said that the country has administered more than 24 lakh vaccine doses administered till 8 pm on April 24.
