Hadi Rani, a brave queen of Rajasthan, has made her name scripted in the  glorious chapters of history after she sacrificed her life for the sake of her nation.

Had Rani was a daughter of Hada Chauhan Rajput who was married to  Ratan Singh, a senior soldier in Mewar.

According to the legend,  she sacrificed herself to motivate her husband to go to a battle.

The King Raj Singh, (1653–1680) from Mewar called Ratan Singh to join the rebellion against Mughal governor. However as Ratan Singh, the commander, had married only a few days earlier, he hesitated however later went to the battle ground with perceptions of Rajput honour disturbing him.

He asked his wife, Hadi Rani, to give him some memento so that he can take with him to the battlefield. Had Rani chopped off her head and placed it in a plate thinking that she was an obstacle to him doing his duty for Mewar.

A servant covered it with cloth and presented it to her husband.

The commander tied the memento around his neck by its hair and after their rebellion ended, he did cut his neck, having lost the desire to live.

Amarnath Yatra 2022: history, significance, climate, distance, tips and many more

0

The ice-caped cave temple Amarnath is one of the sacred Hindu pilgrimage centres in Northern India, at an altitude of approx 17,000 ft above sea level. The cave is believed to be a house, where Lord Shiva narrated Amar Katha, the secret of life and eternity. One can feel the divine spiritual vibration at Amarnath as it is considered as one of the holiest shrines. It is the only place where Lingham takes shape on its own. The ice is collected from the water dripping from the top of the cave due to the melting of the ice on top of it and the shrine is constructed.

Every year ‘Amarnath Yatra’ is marked by ‘Pratham Pujan’. Thousands of people from all over the world visit the cave to summon blessings. If you are planning a trip to Amarnath, then here are some important details you should know about.

History

The history of Amarnath is as interesting as the Yatra is. It is believed that the Amarnath cave is the place where Lord Shiva narrated AMAR KATHA to Parvati for her immortality.

Shiva left all his companions- Nandi, the bull – left at Pahalgam, the moon atop his head at Chandanwari, snake around neck at Lake Sheshnag, the 5 basic essentials of life that he carried at Panchtarini and even his son- Lord Ganesha himself- at Mahaguna top and entered in cave with Parvati.

He orders Agni Devta to demolish all the living creatures around so nobody can hear Amar Katha. On the order of Lord Shiva, Agnidev demolished everything but didn’t destroy an egg as it is not counted, unlike living creatures. After a while, the parrot hatched the egg. Lord Shiva started narrating the Amar Katha but in between, Parvati fell asleep and the parrot was the one who was nodding from behind. When he finished the narration, he realized that Goddess Parvati had actually fallen asleep and a parrot was listening all this while. Lord Shiva tried to kill the parrot but he flew away and entered into the womb of a Saint’s wife. The parrot then took birth and became a famous sage and, interestingly, his face took the shape of a parrot.

World Population Day 2022: History, significance, theme, quotes and more…

WORLD POPULATION DAY 2022

“One step to control the population can save this world from a dark future.”

History

World Population Day is observed every year on 11 July worldwide. It focuses on the importance of population and issues raised from it. July 11, 1987 is the date on which the world’s population reached an estimated rate of five billion people. Hence, from then, 11 July is considered as an annual date for world population day.

World population day was established by the Council of UNDP in 1989 by seeing the interest of the public in the celebration of five billion. And finally, in 1990, UNDP made this official.

Brief Synthesis

By 2011, the world has reached a population of 7 billion. And most probably in 2023, the world will hit a massive 8 billion population. Look how much popularity has increased since then!

The issue of a rising population is also causing damage to society. Crimes are happening in the field of gender inequality and human rights, especially in developing countries. The increase in population also throws light on health problems women face nowadays in pregnancy and family planning.

Not just health problems but other climatic conditions are affected by the massive growth of the population. If we look into the matter of COVID-19, the vaccines were unevenly distributed among people because the rate of people was really so high.

According to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, “Even though the pace of global population growth will continue to decline in the coming decades, the world population is likely to be between 20 and 30 per cent larger in 2050 than in 2020. Having accurate estimates of population trends and reliable forecasts of future changes, including for the size of populations and their distributions by age, sex and geographical location, is required for policy formulation and implementation and as a guide to assist countries in following a path towards sustainable development.”

Kodinhi in Kerala is mysterious twin capital of the country. Know why?

0

Kodinhi, God’s own country of Twins, is the village in Kerala which has the largest number of Twins in the country. There are at least 500 pairs of twins or more among the families residing in the village. In India, 9 twins per 1,000 births, but Kodinhi is such an exception, where the rate is 45 per 1,000 births.

What mystery does this land behold? Is there any scientific explanation for this? Is it genetics? What is it?  This has never heard before has been going on for generations, yet its existence is still unknown to most people.

Situated amid lush greenery on the surrounding landscape of tall coconut trees, the remote village of Kodinhi around 150km from Kochi in Kerala is home to 2,000 families. Scientists still can’t give the exact causes behind the massive number of twins. Maybe genetics, age, race, height, weight, previous pregnancies, and assisted reproduction are a few of the factors contributing to the massive number of twins in the village of Kodinhi.

First ever research conducted in the village

Kodinhi in Kerala is mysterious twin capital of the country. Know why?
Kodinhi

The unusual thing of having a large number of twins in the village never seemed unusual to villagers at all until a pair of twin girls conducted research on this. Sameera and Femeena, twins, studying in IISC school in the village, noticed 8 pairs of twins in one class alone. The girls then got curious to find if there were more twins in other classes too. And after this marvelous beginning, this village faced massive popularity and many scientists and researchers came to know the facts behind this. Behind this bizarre number of twins, scientists haven’t got any explanation. In 2016, a few researchers from Germany came and took samples of hair and nails for a DNA test. But this research failed to give a scientific reason behind this mysterious phenomenon.

Not only Kodinhi,Cândido Godói in Brazil,  Igbo-Ora in Nigeria and  Hung Hiep in South Vietnam are other bizarre places in the world that have an exceptionally high rate of twin births.

And Science has no specific explanation for this.
