Many Indian start-up entrepreneurs who held accounts at the ailing Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). Thus, it was a lengthy wait. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) asked businesses with accounts containing more than $250,000 to contact a toll-free hotline. It is more than what US regulators, who shut down the bank, said would be covered by them.
Thus, the tech sector is SVB’s largest client, with many Indian start-ups having accounts at the bank, particularly in the SaaS (software as a service) market that caters to American clients.
Therefore, California authorities shut down the troubled lender on Friday. However, placing it under the supervision of the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Thus, overnight shock followed another steep 60% decrease in premarket trading for SVB’s stock as anxious depositors hurried to withdraw money, which caused the dip.
Nonetheless, SVB Financial Group’s demise and FDIC takeover may have taken place in a matter of days, Experts claimed the bank was a victim of persistently high interest rates and worries about more rate increases in 2023.
During a time of historically low interest rates during the epidemic, global central banks, led by the US Federal Reserve, began rapidly hiking key rates to combat inflation. Thus, this has affected the businesses of lenders who specialize in technology and start-ups, including SVB, and reduced investor sentiment.
However, it is due to the fact that investors dislike taking risks when the money they have available to them becomes costly owing to increasing interest rates. Investors in technological start-ups, who make up the majority of SVB’s clientele, became less willing to take chances as a result of the increased interest rates.

Rajasthan’s favourite fashion designer, Punit Balana, presented his ‘Utsav’ collection, which is a multi-seasonal celebration of folklore, culture and joy. Punit’s latest collection evokes luminosity and an idea of celebration and joy through its timeless designs.
Brought to life through bright hues of surkhlaal and gulaabi gulaal and a bold shade of kacha aam, this collection is a symphony of embroideries in marodi, resham, gota, mirror and coin and a step ahead in the world of Punit Balana’s prints.
Walking the ramp for Punit for his Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI show was none other than Bollywood’s sweetheart, Sara Ali Khan. Speaking about the collaboration with Punit and Utsav collection in general, she says, “I am thrilled to be walking for Punit Balana and showcasing his stunning ‘Utsav’ collection, which stays true to its meaning of ‘celebration’ or ‘celebration of a joyous occasion’, Utsav highlights textures inspired by the Kalbelia community of Rajasthan, their folklore, literature and the culture that not only binds the Indian state of Rajasthan but one that also acts as a bridge between this state and Indian culture in a larger context.”

The audience was treated to an exhilarating live performance by Kalbelia dancers, which beautifully captured the essence of the ‘Utsav’ collection.
With block prints inspired by Rajasthani history, particularly that of the Kalbelia community, and bandhani, Utsav represents masterful craftsmanship in terms of silhouettes, ranging from classic Punit Balana outfits to new, contemporary ones – reimagined lehengas and peplum sets, heavily embellished kurtas for men and many more to suit the effortless sartorial sensibilities of the modern woman and man.
Speaking about the collection and his show at Lakme Fashion week, ace designer, Punit Balanasays, “For me, what’s most important while designing a new collection are my roots, my surroundings. I never have to look beyond Jaipur and Rajasthan for inspiration. There’s so much about our history that remains untapped and I really hope that one collection after another, I can show people how contemporary our culture can truly be.”
“Happiness, song and dance are a huge part of the Kalbelia community, and they make sure that their culture, their folklore is passed onto generations. They take immense pride in it. I want the Punit Balana women and Men to also feel the same kind of pride when they own and wear an outfit from Utsav, something that will hold meaning for decades to come,” he adds.
The designs showcased on the ramp were styled along with stunning jewellery pieces from JKJ Jewellers in Jaipur, which complemented each ensemble from the ‘Utsav’ collection perfectly.
Bringing to life an array of womenswear and menswear, each piece designed for this collection is an ode to joy. These aren’t just outfits that you smile with, but those that you laugh in. A burst of colour, Utsav has been brought to life keeping in mind the idea of longevity and the unsaid Indian custom of passing on joy, from one generation to another, by a way of passing on clothes. You perhaps want to wear a saree your grandmother had worn on her wedding day. Utsav is just that – a collection that transcends age, one that has something for everybody, one that can boast of being a part of family heirlooms.

What image does your mind create when you hear the word Jaisalmer? The first image that would spring to mind when you hear the phrase Jaisalmer is a vast desert with sand dunes and no water in sight. However, the largest Tethys Sea on the globe used to exist 25 million years ago.
Not long ago, there used to be a thick forest with 30- to 40-foot-tall trees. Thus, the water of Jaisalmer formerly had enormous sharks and creatures. Only in Jaisalmer, Thailand, and Japan have fossils of this shark been discovered.
Because of this, tourists will be able to see up close the world of dinosaur-era species, their fascinating history, and the secrets of their extinction. As the Rajasthani government recently announced the creation of a fossil park, the Bhaskar team traveled to the site of the dinosaurs’ former habitat.
There are plenty of global mysteries that reveal the tale of Jurassic World. Thus, one can be found within a 30-km radius of Jaisalmer city. Therefore, the large aquatic monsters used to emerge from the Tethys Sea on the banks of where the Fort of Sonar is now visible, which is a short distance away. Dinosaurs from the Thaiyat village used to go about on sticks. On the Akal side, there were thick trees and rivers that ran. Giant shark fish had a stronghold in the water in the Baisakhi, Kuldhara, and Khaba areas.
There are four separate locations where scientists can occasionally find dinosaur paws as well as shark and whale teeth.
The “Akal Wood-Fossil Park,” which will collect and preserve this evidence, is located about 18 kilometers from Jaisalmer. The Bhaskar team traveled to Akal with the assistance of renowned geoscientists Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Pandey and Dr. Narayan Das in order to learn more about this realm.

Nahan must be defined or understood, says Janakavi of Sangod. Two words from the poetry of Suraj Mal Vijay, “Yo nhaan tamaso mat samjho, purkhan ri amar nisani chai,” should be heard and understood. This poem serves as Nahan Lokotsav’s unofficial rallying cry. Thus, another common misconception regarding baths is that they can only be perceived through sight and not through hearing.
However, Sangod town in Rajasthan’s Kota district celebrates the Nahan festival with great enthusiasm. Thus, this custom has been practiced for over 500 years. Even today, this custom is still practiced, and since it is so well known, foreigners from all over the nation go to Sangod to take part in the Nahan Lokotsav. Though, bathing is conducted in other Hadoti area towns, including Anta, Mirzapur, Moikalan, Bapavarkalan, etc., Sangod’s bath has become the most well-known.
In the celebration, the participants and observers celebrate for five days straight.
At this Holi festival, there is no color, gulal, or abir, which is observed as Nahan Lokotsav.
The town is split into two sections for Lokotsav. Nahan Akhara Chaudhary Pada is the name given to one side, and Nahan Khada Akhara Chaubey Pada to the other. Thus, Chaudhary Pada is organized for the initial two days of Lokotsav and Nhan Khada Paksha for the final two days. Twelve spears appear on the first day, and the king’s horse appears on the second. Farces are used on the trip to amuse passengers in a hilarious way.
It appears the ancient royal culture has come to life. As the emperor’s ride is brought out from both sides with the wealthy umrao on horseback, it still comes out with full pomp and display. Thus, the genuine Nahan Lokotsav starts on the day of Dooj, although preparations for Nahan begin 15 days before the burning of Holi on Amavasya, when both sides visit Sorsan and worship the Brahmin Mata.
