MAAC Revolutionizes Animation and VFX Courses with Technological Advancements

0

MAAC, a premiere institute and a pioneer in high-end 3D animation Gaming & VFX training, has recently unveiled a significant overhaul to five of its flagship courses, integrating cutting-edge technology upgrades and incorporating essential software and techniques. The revamped courses include IPVAD, AD3D Edge, DGWA, VFX plus, and ADVFX, each tailored to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Recognizing the growing need for skilled professionals in emerging fields, MAAC has also introduced two new courses: 3D and Realtime Design Plus, and UI & UX program, aligning with contemporary industry trends. Notably, most of these programs are GEN AI-enabled, offering advanced learning experiences* (*applicable to select courses), ensuring students are equipped with the latest tools and expertise to excel in their chosen fields.

AI’s integration into the animation & VFX industry has been a gradual yet transformative process. The recent trends are seen where established softwares are becoming smarter in its workflows by giving users multiple AI Enabled features. These tools offer significant time and efficiency savings for creative professionals, traditionally burdened with labour-intensive tasks. However, it’s important to note that AI currently serves as an assistant rather than a replacement for creative artists. While AI can handle repetitive tasks and suggest design elements, it lacks the nuanced understanding and creative vision inherent in human animators. However, what is important that advancements in AI hold a promise for more sophisticated procedural content creation process, potentially leading to new avenues of exploration such as 3D animation, visual effects and immersive design.

Staying ahead of the curve and relevant to the current demands from the industry, MAAC’s courses have also undergone a transformative upgrade with the integration of essential software tools. From GEN AI enabled graphic design platforms like Canva, Photogrammetry, Substance 3D Stager and Adobe Express to innovative tools like Storyboarder for creative visualization, students are equipped with industry-relevant skills. Advanced software such as Marvelous Designer and Photogrammetry enhance 3D modeling capabilities, while Adobe Substance 3D Stager and tools like Katana and Redshift cater to the growing demand of photo realistic visuals.

From pre-visualization tools to concept art creation and assistive intelligence, GEN AI empowers students to explore new creative horizons and streamline their workflows. By embracing GEN AI, MAAC ensures that its students are not only equipped with the latest industry-standard skills but also prepared to lead the charge in innovation within the animation, VFX and digital design industry.

As emerging fields such as real time design, UI/UX along with growing adoption of experiential design in various industries takes centre stage, MAAC has taken proactive steps to ensure its course offerings remain relevant. The introduction of the 3D and Realtime Design Plus and UI & UX program reflects MAAC’s commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and equipping students with the expertise needed to thrive in these burgeoning sectors.

Sustainable Entrepreneurship: The Way Forward for India

0

As the world grapples with the dire consequences of climate change and environmental degradation, there is a growing realization that sustainable business practices are not just a luxury, but a necessity. India, with its burgeoning population and rapid economic growth, is no exception to this trend. Sustainable entrepreneurship, which combines environmental consciousness with economic viability, is emerging as a promising solution to address the country’s pressing challenges.

India has witnessed a surge in sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives in recent years. According to a report by the India Climate Collaborative and Bain & Company, the sustainable entrepreneurship sector in India has grown by over 50% annually since 2017. This growth can be attributed to several factors, including increased awareness of environmental issues, supportive government policies, and the availability of funding opportunities.

One of the key drivers of sustainable entrepreneurship in India is the country’s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Indian government has launched various initiatives, such as the Startup India program and the National Clean Air Program, to promote sustainable business practices and address environmental challenges.

The impact of sustainable entrepreneurship in India can be measured through various statistics:

1. Employment Generation: The sustainable entrepreneurship sector in India has created over 300,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to a study by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

2. Renewable Energy: India has emerged as a global leader in renewable energy, with a installed capacity of over 100 gigawatts (GW) as of 2022. This growth has been driven by sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives in the solar and wind energy sectors.

3. Waste Management: Sustainable entrepreneurship has played a crucial role in addressing India’s waste management challenges. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the country generates over 62 million tons of municipal solid waste annually, and sustainable startups are developing innovative solutions for waste reduction, recycling, and energy generation from waste.

4. Eco-tourism: Sustainable tourism is another area where entrepreneurship is flourishing in India. Initiatives such as eco-resorts, community-based tourism, and responsible travel have gained popularity, contributing to the country’s tourism revenue while preserving its natural heritage.

The future of sustainable entrepreneurship in India looks promising, with a growing emphasis on sustainability across various sectors. The Indian government has set ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions and increasing the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix. These targets, coupled with favourable policies and incentives, are expected to drive further growth in sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of building resilient and sustainable systems, leading to increased consumer demand for eco-friendly products and services. This shift in consumer behaviour presents a significant opportunity for sustainable entrepreneurs to innovate and provide solutions that meet the evolving market demands. However, challenges persist in the form of limited access to capital, lack of skilled workforce, and inadequate infrastructure. To overcome these hurdles, a concerted effort is required from all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and civil society organizations.

Sustainable entrepreneurship is not just a buzzword; it is a necessity for India’s future development. By embracing sustainable business practices, entrepreneurs can contribute to economic growth while simultaneously addressing environmental and social challenges. The rise of sustainable entrepreneurship in India is a testament to the country’s resilience and commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future. With continued support and innovation, India can pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous world.

0

Kolkata Knight Risers won the cup by 8 wickets in just 10.3 overs as it was the one-sided IPL final like never before! KKR was surely a Knightmare for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH set the score of just 113 runs, the lowest total in an IPL final because of early wickets of both the openers and were 3 wickets down in the powerplay. The highest score of the riser was just 24 (19) by the skipper Pat Cummins. The best bowling was done by Narine 4-0-16-1, Russell took 3 wickets (2.3-0-19-3). Starc and Harshit Rana got 2-2 wickets each.

Going towards the run chase, KKR’s opener Gurbaz scored 39 (32) with 4*5 and 6*2 and Venkatesh Iyer scored half century in just 24 balls with the help of 4*4 and 6*3. KKR finished the game in just 10.3 overs.

Shreyas Iyer became the second captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to win the IPL title, following Gautam Gambhir, who won in 2012 and 2014. Gambhir was proudly watching from the dugout as a mentor. Iyer is also only the fifth Indian captain to lead a team to victory in an IPL final, joining the ranks of MS Dhoni, Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya.

With this win, KKR has reaffirmed their status as one of the most successful teams in IPL history. They now have three titles, behind only Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians, who each have five titles.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins experienced his first loss in a major tournament final in over a year, having previously led Australia to victories in the World Test Championship and the World Cup final.

Bark Air: A New Airline for Dogs Takes to the Skies

0

In a groundbreaking move for canine travel enthusiasts, Bark Air, a new airline dedicated to dogs, is set to embark on its inaugural flight this Thursday. The maiden voyage, which has already sold out, will depart from New York and head to Los Angeles at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Bark, a well-known pet company founded in 2011, has been at the forefront of offering dog food and a variety of pet products. This April, they announced their latest venture: an aviation experience tailored specifically for dogs. Bark Air is now the second service to prioritize pets over humans in air travel, following the United Kingdom’s K9 Jets, which allows pets to travel alongside their owners in the cabin rather than being confined to cargo holds.

“We are excited to take the insights we’ve learned over the years to create an experience that is truly dog-first, which is drastically different from just accepting dogs – from the ground to the skies,” said Matt Meeker, co-founder and CEO of Bark, in a statement made in April. “We believe this initiative will elevate awareness of our brand’s mission and values, introduce more dog lovers to the Bark family, and help enrich the lives of dogs and their people around the world.”

The highly anticipated first flight from New York to Los Angeles has already reached full capacity, as indicated by Bark’s booking website. This innovative air travel service aims to alleviate the discomfort and stress often faced by dogs during long-distance journeys on commercial flights, especially those that cannot fit under the seats.

“Too often, dogs are denied travel, confined to a duffle bag, or endure the stress of flying in cargo,” Bark emphasized when announcing the launch of their new flights.

Bark Air promises an unparalleled “white paw service” for its canine passengers. The dog-centric cabin configuration allows dogs to socialize freely, mirroring the luxury of first-class human travel. Dogs will be treated to premium snacks, noise-canceling ear muffs, beverages of their choice, and other delightful surprises.

Initially, Bark Air will operate flights between the New York City metro area and Los Angeles, with plans to expand to routes including New York to London. The company has assured that additional routes will be added in the near future. Operating as a public charter service, Bark Air utilizes spacious Gulfstream G5 jets, although it does not own or operate the aircraft itself. Each dog ticket includes a pass for one human companion, with additional passes available for families. Children under 18 are not allowed onboard, and there are no restrictions on the size or breed of dogs.

However, this luxurious service comes at a premium price. A one-way ticket from New York to Los Angeles costs $6,000 for a dog and their human companion, while a New York to London ticket is priced at $8,000.

In a candid letter issued in May, Meeker acknowledged the high cost of the service but expressed optimism that prices would decrease as demand grows. “This is cost-prohibitive for most families, but less expensive than most options today. And this is also how most innovative products and services began,” he explained. “Televisions, telephones, VCRs and DVD players, to automobiles, train and boat travel, and, yes, even human air travel — all of these started with very high prices until demand was proven and the costs could be brought lower by serving the masses.”

Bark Air’s pioneering approach marks a significant milestone in pet travel, offering a luxurious and stress-free alternative for dogs and their owners. As the airline takes its first flight, it paves the way for a future where canine companions can travel in comfort and style.

0

GFI India and APIC sign an MoU to propel advancements in smart protein innovation, scale-up, and market penetration throughout India

The Alternative Proteins Innovation Center (APIC), an integrated facility focused on alternative protein ingredient and product development, was launched today in collaboration with the Good Food Institute India, the central expert organisation, thought leader, and convening body in the Indian alternative protein or smart protein sector. This partnership aims to accelerate research and development, innovation, technology transfer, and commercialization of smart protein technology in India.

The Alternative Proteins Innovation Center (APIC) has been established as a centre of excellence that provides research and manufacturing services for the development of alternative proteins and ingredients. Currently, the centre also includes facilities for creating finished plant-based products, such as plant-based milk. Located near Bengaluru and equipped with in-house R&D experts, APIC offers an optimal environment for transforming concepts into commercial products. It is the first facility to offer comprehensive services in the alternative protein industry, encompassing everything from lab-scale to pilot-scale development.

The launch event was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GFI India and APIC. Through this partnership, GFI India and APIC aim to foster a collaborative environment that encourages the research, development, and scale-up of alternative protein technologies and products. The MoU outlines specific areas of collaboration, including joint research projects, knowledge sharing, and capacity building programs like workshops and events. By combining their expertise and resources, GFI India and APIC seek to unlock new opportunities and propel advancements in the smart protein sector towards a sustainable and secure future of food in India.

During the MoU signing, Sneha Singh, Acting Managing Director, GFI India, said, “We are excited about this collaboration with APIC, which marks a significant milestone in our efforts to drive innovation and growth in the smart protein sector. This strategic partnership represents a convergence of shared values, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to revolutionising the future of food. Here at GFI India, we firmly believe that this synergy will not only accelerate scientific knowledge building and sharing but also pave the way for innovative solutions that can be readily commercialised, benefiting entrepreneurs, startups, and ultimately, consumers.”

The collaboration between GFI India and APIC will focus on undertaking exploratory research projects that address specific challenges faced by startups and entrepreneurs in the smart protein sector. The two organizations will organize workshops and information dissemination events, disseminate open-access knowledge materials, and conduct training programs aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of stakeholders within the smart protein sector.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Pranesh Sridharan, Chief Innovation Officer, APIC, said, “Together with GFI India, we envisaged the establishment of a one stop solution for those entering the smart protein sector, and I’m thrilled to be standing here today at the launch of APIC as a centre of excellence. We have an impressive team of experts with the knowhow of plant protein extraction, isolation, application development in plant based, fermented, and cultivated proteins, and a combined industry experience of over 125 years. We look forward to curating and developing sector-building programs that can address current gaps in infrastructure access and knowledge transfer in smart protein processing and R&D.”

The launch event included a panel discussion on innovation and investment pathways in smart protein that saw participation from esteemed speakers including Jinesh Shah, Founder, AltX Ventures, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Head of Center at the Transdisciplinary University, Stéphanie Joseph, Director Global Growth – Alternative Proteins, Pall Corporation Narayanan Suresh, Chief Operating Officer at Association of Biotechnology-Led Enterprises (ABLE), and Abhay Rangan, Co-founder of Nourish You India. The insightful session was hosted by Amy Aela, co-founder of Meat Less Meet More.

Meat Less Meet More, a luxury plant-based networking company that was present at the launch, has joined hands with APIC to build awareness and dialogue on sustainability through podcasts, panel discussions, and other digital channels. APIC and AltX Ventures, India’s pioneering climate-tech venture house, announced their intention to sign an MoU to support alternative protein startups. Expressing his enthusiasm for this upcoming partnership, Jinesh Shah, Founder of AltX Ventures, said, “As a part of our climate-tech ecosystem building efforts, AltX Ventures is proud to partner with APIC to support smart protein and foodtech startups in areas such as R&D, fundraising, strategy, partnerships, global reach, and more. We believe such collaborations are vital for India to secure a substantial role in the global future of the food economy.”

With an increasing global population, there is an ever-growing demand for protein, with the plant based meat industry alone expected to fulfil a minimum of 25 million metric tonnes in annual global market demand for plant-based meat by 2030. This accelerating demand for protein will require innovation and scale. The Alternative Proteins Innovation Center together with partners like GFI India, is enabling the availability of technology, infrastructure, and ecosystem support to make India’s leadership in the smart protein industry a reality.
