Who was Emperor Yayati ? Know All About

0

In the annals of ancient Indian mythology, few tales are as captivating as that of Emperor Yayati, a legendary king whose story is woven into the fabric of the Mahabharata. His life, marked by passion, curses, and an insatiable quest for youth, offers a rich tapestry for understanding the complexities of human desires and the consequences they bear.

A King’s Lineage and His Quest for Power Yayati, a Chandravamsha king, is often hailed as the progenitor of the races of the Yadavas and the Pandavas. Born to King Nahusha and his wife, Ashokasundari, Yayati was the youngest of five brothers in a lineage blessed by the gods but marred by a sage’s curse that doomed the sons to unhappiness.

The Curse That Altered Destiny The turning point in Yayati’s life came from his marriage to Devayani, the daughter of Shukra, the preceptor of the demons, and his union with Sharmishtha, daughter of king Vrishaparvan and Devayani’s maid. A tangled web of love and betrayal led to Yayati’s curse of premature old age by a wrathful Shukra. However, in a twist of fate, Yayati’s son Puru bore the burden of his father’s curse, granting the king a second chance at youth1.

The Reign That Spanned the Three Worlds Yayati’s rule is chronicled as a time of great conquests and sacrifices. He performed numerous yajnas and gave away mountains of gold and billions of cows to the Brahmanas, establishing himself as a Chakravarti Samrat, a World Emperor. His reign was not just limited to the earth; he held sway over all three worlds, a testament to his power and influence.

The Legacy That Lives On The tale of Yayati is not merely a story from the past; it is a narrative that resonates with the timeless themes of ambition, love, and redemption. His descendants, the Yadavas and the Pandavas, played pivotal roles in the epic saga of the Mahabharata, shaping the course of Indian mythology and history.

Travel Time :

There are two seasons : Summer (March to June) and Winter (September to February) . Travelling during Rainy season (July and August) is not advisable because of increased landslides.

  4. Always carry water and fruits. Try to avoid fast food or junk food. Eat healthy and stay safe as at certain places even medical facilities are difficult to find.

Stay :

Home Stay, Resorts and Hotels all are available. You may choose one according to your budget.

Preowned Cars Sales to Reach 10.92 mn Units by FY28 – Indian Blue Book Report 2023

0

The Indian used car industry will more than double to $70.48B by FY28

The preowned cars sales market in India is set to reach 10.92 mn. units in FY28 as per the latest edition of Indian Blue Book (IBB) report by car&bike and Das WeltAuto. by Volkswagen. The Indian Used car industry was valued at $32.44B in FY23 and will more than double to $73B by FY28.

Upgrading to a new pre-owned car is the top reason for owners to sell cars while budget buyers are predominantly looking for quality cars. Customers are also becoming more informed about car technicalities with 71% buyers looking at MMV (Make, Model & Variant) as a big consideration.

The latest edition of the Indian Blue Book, a collaboration with Das WeltAuto. by Volkswagen, reinforces our confidence in the Indian pre-owned car market’s explosive growth potential. The increasing involvement of organized players is bringing stability and trust to this market; achieving consistent profitability and providing superlative customer experience remains the top priorities for organised players,” said Mr. Ashutosh Pandey, CEO & MD, Mahindra First Choice.

Buyer Highlights

  • The report found that majority of buyers are highly budget conscious (63 %) and looking for quality cars.
  • Customers have become more informed about the technicalities of cars with 71% of buyers acknowledging overall repairs & servicing costs as a big consideration.
  • Big shift noticed among consumers, who are prioritizing safety as a key feature in a used car, giving impetus to brands like Volkswagen for their 5-star GNCAP product portfolio of Taigun and Virtus
  • 45% of buyers/intenders prefer local dealers for exploring, followed by Auto Tech Start-ups (26 %) & OEM backed brands (23 %).
  • In terms of awareness and preferences of car leasing, 28% of buyers were aware of the concept while 62% of buyers would avail it in the future.
  • Warranty and financial assistance topped the list of demands in terms of services.
  • A majority of 56% did not prefer an EV used car.

Seller Perspective

  • Upgrading to a new used car top reason to sell cars among 59% of respondents, followed by sufficiency of having another vehicle has increased as extra cars bought during COVID-19 are being sold now.
  • Due to the Fastrack process in auto tech startups & OEM backed companies, the actual Turn Around Time (TAT) to sell a car has come down to 3 days
  • Full payment within 24 hours remains the top priority among sellers during the sale process followed by vehicle inspection at a location of their choice.

“The pre-owned car market is significantly growing with the potential of it being double by FY 2028. The growth primarily comes from the evolving trends and customer preferences while selecting a pre-owned vehicle. A notable shift is the top priority for safety features, a transition similar to the new car industry, enabling a brand like Volkswagen, to be more accessible and in-demand for customers with our 5-star GNCAP rated product portfolio – Taigun and Virtus. The high preference for safety features and standards among customers is positively impacting the residual value of Volkswagen cars, especially the Taigun. We are confident the Das WeltAuto. business, will continue to grow as one of the top certified pre-owned car brands in India for customers,” said Mr. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.

Pardhan: A Glimpse into the Lives of Central India’s Tribal Musicians

0

The Pardhan are a unique subgroup of the Dravidian, tribal Gond people residing in central India. Known for their rich cultural heritage, the Pardhan have traditionally held the roles of singers and musicians, enlivening festivals and significant life ceremonies with their art. However, in contemporary times, most Pardhan have transitioned to agricultural work, cultivating crops such as wheat, sorghum, vegetables, and fruit. Some have also diversified into weaving and producing bamboo articles to sustain their livelihoods.

Historical Context and Social Standing

The arrival of the Aryans in the Gond territories marked a significant shift in the lives of the Gond people, including the Pardhan. While some Gond groups submitted to Aryan rule, others resisted but were eventually subdued by the Aryans’ superior military technology. The Pardhan, in the aftermath, became servants and slaves to the Aryans. As a tribal community, they were placed outside the traditional Hindu caste system, rendering them outcastes.

Today, the Pardhan are classified as a Scheduled Caste, which entitles them to special provisions in public employment and educational admissions. Despite these measures, many Pardhan have limited access to education, prompting ongoing governmental efforts to address this disparity.

Language and Geographic Distribution

The primary language of the Pardhan is their own distinct Pardhan language. Additionally, many Pardhan are multilingual, speaking Hindi, Marathi, and Gondi. Geographically, the majority of the Pardhan population is concentrated in the Indian states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

Cultural Practices and Daily Life

The Pardhan musicians are renowned for their exceptional memory, often able to recite lengthy epics and genealogies in multiple languages. They primarily play two traditional instruments: the kingri, a three-stringed violin, and a small harp known as the bana. Pardhan musicians perform at various ceremonies including births, weddings, funerals, and Hindu festivals, earning their livelihood through donations from participants. In addition to their musical roles, the Pardhan also serve as Hindu priests, blessing babies and animals.

The Pardhan community typically resides in rural villages, although some members have migrated to urban areas. Marriages within the Pardhan are arranged by families and follow strict rules, prohibiting unions within the same clan or gotra. Newlywed couples often live with or near the groom’s parents, and inheritance, including the family home, passes to the sons, with the eldest son receiving the primary residence.

The Pardhan diet primarily consists of sorghum, wheat, vegetables, and fruit, with meat and rice reserved for special occasions due to economic constraints.

Religious Beliefs and Practices

The Pardhan are adherents of Hinduism, engaging in the worship of the myriad deities within the Hindu pantheon. They believe that performing rituals and good deeds will lead to moksha, or liberation from the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. The Pardhan regularly visit Hindu shrines and offer prayers, food, flowers, and incense to their gods. However, they often face social discrimination, including restricted access to some Hindu temples due to their low caste status.

The Pardhan celebrate major Hindu festivals such as Holi (the festival of colors), Diwali (the festival of lights), and Navratri (the celebration of autumn), which hold significant cultural and religious importance.

Contemporary Needs and Aspirations

The Pardhan community faces several challenges, including the need for better education and new vocational skills. Agricultural experts could provide invaluable assistance in improving the productivity and yield of their farms. Moreover, there is a call for spiritual engagement, with some advocating for the introduction of the Christian gospel to the Pardhan, hoping it would offer them a transformative message.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to empower those ministering to the Pardhan people.
  • Pray for Pardhan families to be drawn to Jesus and the Bible, moving away from Hindu deities.
  • Pray for a deep love for God’s Word among the Pardhan and a desire to spread its teachings.
  • Ask the Lord to inspire and send out a new generation of dedicated, multiplying Christians among the Pardhan.

In summary, the Pardhan are a resilient and culturally rich community with a deep-rooted tradition of music and spirituality. As they navigate the complexities of modern life, there remains a need for continued support in education, economic development, and spiritual growth.

MAAC Revolutionizes Animation and VFX Courses with Technological Advancements

0

MAAC, a premiere institute and a pioneer in high-end 3D animation Gaming & VFX training, has recently unveiled a significant overhaul to five of its flagship courses, integrating cutting-edge technology upgrades and incorporating essential software and techniques. The revamped courses include IPVAD, AD3D Edge, DGWA, VFX plus, and ADVFX, each tailored to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Recognizing the growing need for skilled professionals in emerging fields, MAAC has also introduced two new courses: 3D and Realtime Design Plus, and UI & UX program, aligning with contemporary industry trends. Notably, most of these programs are GEN AI-enabled, offering advanced learning experiences* (*applicable to select courses), ensuring students are equipped with the latest tools and expertise to excel in their chosen fields.

AI’s integration into the animation & VFX industry has been a gradual yet transformative process. The recent trends are seen where established softwares are becoming smarter in its workflows by giving users multiple AI Enabled features. These tools offer significant time and efficiency savings for creative professionals, traditionally burdened with labour-intensive tasks. However, it’s important to note that AI currently serves as an assistant rather than a replacement for creative artists. While AI can handle repetitive tasks and suggest design elements, it lacks the nuanced understanding and creative vision inherent in human animators. However, what is important that advancements in AI hold a promise for more sophisticated procedural content creation process, potentially leading to new avenues of exploration such as 3D animation, visual effects and immersive design.

Staying ahead of the curve and relevant to the current demands from the industry, MAAC’s courses have also undergone a transformative upgrade with the integration of essential software tools. From GEN AI enabled graphic design platforms like Canva, Photogrammetry, Substance 3D Stager and Adobe Express to innovative tools like Storyboarder for creative visualization, students are equipped with industry-relevant skills. Advanced software such as Marvelous Designer and Photogrammetry enhance 3D modeling capabilities, while Adobe Substance 3D Stager and tools like Katana and Redshift cater to the growing demand of photo realistic visuals.

From pre-visualization tools to concept art creation and assistive intelligence, GEN AI empowers students to explore new creative horizons and streamline their workflows. By embracing GEN AI, MAAC ensures that its students are not only equipped with the latest industry-standard skills but also prepared to lead the charge in innovation within the animation, VFX and digital design industry.

As emerging fields such as real time design, UI/UX along with growing adoption of experiential design in various industries takes centre stage, MAAC has taken proactive steps to ensure its course offerings remain relevant. The introduction of the 3D and Realtime Design Plus and UI & UX program reflects MAAC’s commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and equipping students with the expertise needed to thrive in these burgeoning sectors.

Sustainable Entrepreneurship: The Way Forward for India

0

As the world grapples with the dire consequences of climate change and environmental degradation, there is a growing realization that sustainable business practices are not just a luxury, but a necessity. India, with its burgeoning population and rapid economic growth, is no exception to this trend. Sustainable entrepreneurship, which combines environmental consciousness with economic viability, is emerging as a promising solution to address the country’s pressing challenges.

India has witnessed a surge in sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives in recent years. According to a report by the India Climate Collaborative and Bain & Company, the sustainable entrepreneurship sector in India has grown by over 50% annually since 2017. This growth can be attributed to several factors, including increased awareness of environmental issues, supportive government policies, and the availability of funding opportunities.

One of the key drivers of sustainable entrepreneurship in India is the country’s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Indian government has launched various initiatives, such as the Startup India program and the National Clean Air Program, to promote sustainable business practices and address environmental challenges.

The impact of sustainable entrepreneurship in India can be measured through various statistics:

1. Employment Generation: The sustainable entrepreneurship sector in India has created over 300,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to a study by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

2. Renewable Energy: India has emerged as a global leader in renewable energy, with a installed capacity of over 100 gigawatts (GW) as of 2022. This growth has been driven by sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives in the solar and wind energy sectors.

3. Waste Management: Sustainable entrepreneurship has played a crucial role in addressing India’s waste management challenges. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the country generates over 62 million tons of municipal solid waste annually, and sustainable startups are developing innovative solutions for waste reduction, recycling, and energy generation from waste.

4. Eco-tourism: Sustainable tourism is another area where entrepreneurship is flourishing in India. Initiatives such as eco-resorts, community-based tourism, and responsible travel have gained popularity, contributing to the country’s tourism revenue while preserving its natural heritage.

The future of sustainable entrepreneurship in India looks promising, with a growing emphasis on sustainability across various sectors. The Indian government has set ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions and increasing the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix. These targets, coupled with favourable policies and incentives, are expected to drive further growth in sustainable entrepreneurship initiatives.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of building resilient and sustainable systems, leading to increased consumer demand for eco-friendly products and services. This shift in consumer behaviour presents a significant opportunity for sustainable entrepreneurs to innovate and provide solutions that meet the evolving market demands. However, challenges persist in the form of limited access to capital, lack of skilled workforce, and inadequate infrastructure. To overcome these hurdles, a concerted effort is required from all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and civil society organizations.

Sustainable entrepreneurship is not just a buzzword; it is a necessity for India’s future development. By embracing sustainable business practices, entrepreneurs can contribute to economic growth while simultaneously addressing environmental and social challenges. The rise of sustainable entrepreneurship in India is a testament to the country’s resilience and commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future. With continued support and innovation, India can pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous world.

Kolkata Knight Risers won the cup by 8 wickets in just 10.3 overs as it was the one-sided IPL final like never before! KKR was surely a Knightmare for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH set the score of just 113 runs, the lowest total in an IPL final because of early wickets of both the openers and were 3 wickets down in the powerplay. The highest score of the riser was just 24 (19) by the skipper Pat Cummins. The best bowling was done by Narine 4-0-16-1, Russell took 3 wickets (2.3-0-19-3). Starc and Harshit Rana got 2-2 wickets each.

Going towards the run chase, KKR’s opener Gurbaz scored 39 (32) with 4*5 and 6*2 and Venkatesh Iyer scored half century in just 24 balls with the help of 4*4 and 6*3. KKR finished the game in just 10.3 overs.

Shreyas Iyer became the second captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to win the IPL title, following Gautam Gambhir, who won in 2012 and 2014. Gambhir was proudly watching from the dugout as a mentor. Iyer is also only the fifth Indian captain to lead a team to victory in an IPL final, joining the ranks of MS Dhoni, Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya.

With this win, KKR has reaffirmed their status as one of the most successful teams in IPL history. They now have three titles, behind only Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians, who each have five titles.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins experienced his first loss in a major tournament final in over a year, having previously led Australia to victories in the World Test Championship and the World Cup final.
