My mother-in-law helped me spread wings, says CII IWN President, Nivedita R Sarda

0

She is a successful business women, scripting inspiring stories and has been leading from the front in the business women league. Spreading her wings in the corporate world, she is a very disciplined professional too who knows how to meet her deadlines. Yes, we are talking of Nivedita R Sarda, President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Indian Women Network (IWN), Rajasthan Chapter who has made a mark in world of entrepreur who proudly shares that it was her mother in law who helped her take a success path. A few excerpts….

Q1: What are your views on the term ‘women entrepreneurship’? Is it a justified term? Is there a community we can call women entrepreneurs?

Nivedita R Sarda: Women entrepreneurship as a term is very strong. However, there is often confusion about whom to call a woman entrepreneur. A woman who owns land and sells crops or vegetables is a woman entrepreneur. Unfortunately, society tends to recognize only those women who have shops, industries, or provide services as entrepreneurs. This perception needs to change. We need to broaden our understanding and recognition of women entrepreneurs in all forms of business.

Q2: Many people start but fail to take off. Is there a need for mentoring, training, pitching, or handholding?

Nivedita R Sarda: From my experience, women require assertiveness. We seek recognition for our work. Mentoring and handholding are crucial, but self-motivation is the most important. My journey as an entrepreneur was motivated by my mother-in-law, who encouraged me to use my education and skills instead of staying at home. Support from family can be a significant factor in driving women forward. Women often struggle with handling failure because of their high commitment levels. When they face setbacks, they might feel mentally blocked. At such times, they need support and encouragement to try again. Additionally, women often lack the necessary environment to see themselves at growth stages. For instance, aspiring to start a 100-crore manufacturing business can feel daunting without the right network and support. Women have the potential but often miss out on networking and funding opportunities, which are crucial for reaching higher levels of success.

Q3: What are your views on work-life balance?

Nivedita R Sarda: I can only share my personal experience. I adhere to the concept of being fully present where I am. When I am at the office, I focus solely on work, not on what is happening at home. Similarly, when I am at home, I disconnect from work completely. This approach reduces stress and anxiety. Prioritization is also essential. If work is important, dedicate the necessary time to it, and the same goes for home. My father advised me to create a timetable and stick to it. This helps your entire ecosystem adjust, ensuring that your family and colleagues respect your boundaries and time.

Q4: What is your message to women entrepreneurs?

Nivedita R Sarda: Think big, very big, and then work accordingly. Don’t overthink. Just think and do it. Challenges will come, but keep working. It’s like swimming; if you’re drowning, you try to swim to survive. Similarly, as an entrepreneur, you need to continuously work, face challenges, and strive to achieve your goals.

The Paris Olympics 2024 has seen India open its medal tally with a historic win, as 22-year-old shooter Manu Bhaker clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol final. This victory not only marks India’s first medal at the Paris Games but also makes Bhaker the first female Indian shooter to win an Olympic medal.

A Display of Exceptional Skill

Throughout the competition, Bhaker showcased remarkable skill and composure, maintaining a top-three position for the majority of the event. Heading into the final shot, she was in second place by a narrow margin of 0.1 points but ultimately secured third place, earning the bronze medal. This achievement is a significant milestone for Bhaker and Indian sports, as the nation aims to surpass its previous record of seven medals from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Qualification Highlights

Bhaker’s journey to the final was characterized by a strong performance in the qualifications. She finished third with a score of 580, recovering from an otherwise challenging day for Indian shooting on Saturday, July 27. Hungarian shooter Veronika Major topped the qualification with a score of 582, while Rhythm Sangwan, the other Indian representative, finished 15th with a score of 573.

Bhaker started strong with 97 points in the first series, placing her in fourth position. She maintained her form with another 97 in the second series, despite Sangwan slipping to 26th after a poor round. Bhaker moved up to second place after an excellent 98 in the third series. An 8 in the fifth series was her only significant misstep, but she still managed to secure her place in the final.

Other Indian Performances

In addition to Bhaker’s success, India’s Ramita Jindal also qualified for a final at the Paris Olympics. Jindal secured fifth place in the women’s 10m air rifle qualification with a score of 631.5. However, Elavenil Valarivan, another Indian contender, missed out on the final, finishing 10th with a score of 630.7. Jindal, a bronze medallist at the Hangzhou Asian Games, became the second Indian shooter to secure a final berth at these games, following Bhaker’s qualification.

A Promising Start

Manu Bhaker’s bronze medal is a promising start for India at the Paris Olympics 2024. Her achievement sets a hopeful tone for the Indian contingent, inspiring athletes and fans alike. As the games progress, India looks forward to adding more medals to its tally and making this Olympics one of its most successful yet.

This victory not only underscores Bhaker’s talent and determination but also highlights the potential of Indian athletes on the world stage. With this inspiring start, India is poised to create more history and bring home even more glory from the Paris Olympics.

CUTLURAL SPECTACLE

As thinking of Jaipur in mind the first thing goes in our mind is unmatchable culture. But how this culture is still standing. Hence this is a long preserving work done by people.

Rulers of Jaipur contributed so much for this still standing heritage .one of the best  examples of this is in art preserving hall in city palace

When we visit a vintage location we often praise art .But we forget about  the persons with exceptional talent behind the art

Nevertheless, rulers of Jaipur recognize timeless work of art and made a hall for promotion of artist’s generation in city palace . which includes miniature art ,wooden art , perfumes, jewelry and other remarkable art of Rajasthan.
