ASMITA 2024: Meet the woman who lost her voice and hope but then miracle happened…

0

Shivani Agarwal, founder of the ‘Journey with Gratitude’ shared her inspirational story at Asmita 2024 held today at Sapta Shakti Auditorium, Jaipur. She is a Motivational speaker, Mind Miracle Mentor, Certified Belief Clearing Practitioner, Metaphysical Coach and Entrepreneur. Let us share her full story to understand what miracle made her so greatful about life that she has become the practitioner and mentor today.

From the stage of Asmita 2024, Shivani shared her journey starting from the time when she was first diagnosed with tuberculosis. She and her whole family got shattered in a moment when they first came to know about it but at that time doctors were not able to diagnose that whether this tuberculosis was cancerous or not. To diagnose it, doctors advised her for a surgery which was done and she was not diagnosed with cancer. Her entire family was happy about it until they found that Shivani was not able to speak.

Initially, doctors said that it may have been caused because of surgery and her voice will be back in some days. But days and weeks passed on however Shivani was unable to speak a full word.

Sometime later, it was found that her left vocal cord nerve got cut during surgery as it was close to the part which doctors were treating in the surgery, there were no hopes left and Shivani and her family tried every thing they could do to get her voice back. But it seemed impossible.

Then once her friend came from Chennai to her place in Kolkata but when she was returning back via flight, she got common cold and her ear started paining. Her pain was not going even after many days also. So, she went to Padma Shri ENT Specialist Dr. Mohan Kameshwaran. She shared Shivani’s issue with the doctor and the doctor asked her to bring Shivani to Chennai.

ASMITA 2024: Meet the woman who lost her voice and hope but then miracle happened...

Shivani and her husband packed up their bag and came to the doctor. Shivani said that her face literally had no hopes when she entered into his cabin but then he told me one thing that changed my life. He said “Nobody knows enough to be a pessimist”. He said that ‘why are you upset, why are you thinking negative, why to think negative when we don’t know what will happen in a second or a minute from now’.

Then doctor diagnosed her and said that nerve is slit but she can get her voice back. He explained that we have two vocal cords and you have slit in the left one. So, right vocal cord still has a possibility.

She said that he treated her without any medication or surgery by massage the neck and it was too severe and she really used to choke but yes it cured her and now she is able to speak. Today, her one cord is stationary and the right one is doing the extra effort through which she is able to speak and hence has got her voice back.

She said that in all this journey, what she learned is be thankful for what she has. “We all might have never thanked God for our voice or eyes but that daymade me greatful because I knew it by then how it feels when that thing is taken away from us.”

So, after this episode, she decided to spread the positivty God has given her via miracle and she spreads the word from what life has taught her. Then she started her “Journey of Gratitude” and till now she has healed a lot of people via her positivity and gratitude.

The Art of Living And Environmental Restoration…

0

As pollution rises and natural resources diminish, The Art of Living community, guided by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s vision, has dedicated itself to impactful environmental projects. By bringing together diverse partners, they drive substantial change through collaborative plantation efforts.

“We need to protect the environment – this is our first and foremost duty as citizens of this world. If we take care of the environment, it will take care of us and bring us health, prosperity and happiness,’’Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Protecting Our Fragile Ecosystem

The delicate interplay between humans and nature depends heavily on water and forests. Yet, we’re witnessing a 32% drop in global forest cover, coupled with worsening urban pollution that’s taking a toll on our water sources. In response, The Art of Living has been leading a global tree-planting effort for the past twenty years. The focus has been on restoring dried-up water bodies, reducing CO2 levels, improving soil health to help regenerate forests, and fighting desertification.

Mission Green Earth: Cultivating a Greener Future

To tackle the environmental crisis head-on, The Art of Living rolled out ‘Mission Green Earth,’ a large-scale tree-planting initiative. Partnering with the United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), this project has successfully seen 9,12,00,000+ trees planted worldwide.

Some of the standout efforts include planting over 70,000 trees in Ladakh, contributing more than 7,00,000 trees for river restoration projects, and placing over 100,000 trees around water recharge areas. These afforestation initiatives target regions where tree numbers are dwindling, transforming fading forests into thriving green spaces. The project also extends to barren and semi-arid lands, focusing on planting medicinal, fruit-bearing trees, and other hardy species suited to local conditions.

A 90% survival rate for these trees is a result of thoughtful practices: using drip irrigation, digging deep trenches to protect forest areas, and daily monitoring of vulnerable sites to prevent any setbacks.

Mission Green Earth stands as a powerful example of how collective effort can make a real impact on global warming, showing that every tree planted brings us closer to a healthier planet.

Now Comes MACH 1 Watch to Honour High-Altitude Aviators

0

In the spirit of producing world-class watches that tell stories from modern India, Bangalore Watch Company™ celebrates high-altitude aviators with a new watch in the MACH 1 collection. The new watch is called – MACH 1 Avalanche.

Two sides of Avalanche

We introduced the MACH 1 collection in 2019. Since then, this collection has seen a strong identity as a compelling aviation-styled watch with Indian aviation backstories. We did several watches in the past that celebrate the Indian Air Force, and most recently the Indian Navy. The Avalanche is an addition to this narrative with a focus specifically on the heroes of high-altitude flying,” said Nirupesh Joshi, Co-founder and Creative Director of the brand.

The Himalayan range has more than 1300 peaks that are above 6000 meters. Many of those are within the Airspace of India. The Indian Air Force has been tasked with not only protecting this airspace, but also ensuring the safety and sustenance of the border forces that protect our high-altitude borders.

High-altitude flights are extremely dangerous. The thin air makes it challenging for helicopters to create and sustain lift. Since the late 1970s, Indian aviators have been routinely flying rescue and resupply missions to the high peaks of the Himalayas – braving the biting cold, oxygen-thin air, and icy, rugged terrain of some of the world’s highest battlefields. This is the story that we wanted to celebrate with our newest watch in the MACH 1 line-up,” Mercy Amalraj, Co-founder and Head of Ownership Experience said.

Given the unique backstory, the designers at BWC have come up with a new colour scheme for the watch. A white colour and pattern that mimics freshly fallen powdery snow, that is called Frostpeak.  The dial also carries a motif de grain, that gives the watch a shine and luster in different lighting conditions. There is also a minute hand bright red with Super-Luminova®, that resembles airspeed indicators and the bright colours of mountain rescue helicopters. The back of the watch portrays a  helicopter flying above towering peaks, symbolic of the story of the watch.

MACH 1 Avalanche is priced at USD 1,200. The watches can be ordered through the brand’s website www.bangalorewatchco.in starting today.

Scientists Predict 25-Hour Days on Earth Due to the Moon’s Drift: Here’s When

0

We all learned in our science classes that one complete rotation of the Earth on its axis takes 24 hours, marking the length of a day. However, this may not always be the case. A recent study by scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison suggests that Earth’s days could stretch to 25 hours in the distant future due to the Moon’s gradual drift away from our planet.

The Moon, Earth’s closest celestial neighbor, has a significant influence on our planet’s rotation. As it slowly drifts away from Earth, this movement affects the Earth’s rotational speed, causing it to slow down. To understand this phenomenon, let’s take a journey back in time. Around 1.4 billion years ago, a day on Earth lasted only 18 hours. Since then, the rotational speed of our planet has been gradually decreasing as the Moon continues to move further away.

This intriguing relationship between Earth and the Moon was uncovered by scientists who analyzed ancient rock formations dating back 90 million years. These rocks provided critical insights into the Earth’s historical rotational patterns and the Moon’s influence on them. Today, the Moon is approximately 384,400 kilometers away from Earth and takes about 27.3 days to complete one orbit around our planet.

Stephen Meyers, a professor of geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, offered a fascinating analogy to explain the situation: “As the moon moves away, the Earth is like a spinning figure skater who slows down as they stretch their arms out.” This gradual slowing of Earth’s rotation is a direct consequence of the Moon’s increasing distance. Meyers also notes that if the Moon had been closer to Earth about 1.5 billion years ago, its gravitational interactions would have been so intense that they could have torn the Moon apart.

The study reveals that the Moon is currently moving away from Earth at a rate of 3.82 centimeters per year. If this trend continues, Earth could experience 25-hour-long days approximately 200 million years from now. This is part of what scientists refer to as the “Milankovitch cycles,” which are long-term variations in Earth’s orbit and axial tilt that affect the distribution of sunlight on our planet, influencing climate rhythms over millennia.

The research was led by Professor Stephen Meyers in collaboration with Alberto Malinverno, a research professor at Columbia University. Malinverno developed a statistical approach called TimeOptMCMC, which allowed the team to assess variations in the geological record and understand the relationship between the length of Earth’s days and the Moon’s distance from Earth.

While the prospect of 25-hour days may seem far off, this study sheds light on the intricate and evolving relationship between our planet and its natural satellite, offering a glimpse into the long-term future of Earth’s rotation.

Lastly, the “Betting Strategy” section is particularly appealing for those new to the game. It showcases successful betting strategies employed by other players, displaying metrics such as profit, ROI, and AUM on the right side of the screen. This transparent strategy-sharing environment means that newcomers can easily copy and adopt effective betting tactics without having to delve deeply into complicated methods. Meet Mira Kulkarni: The Visionary Entrepreneur Who Built a Rs. 10,000 Crore Ayurvedic Empire

0

In the year 2000, when Ayurveda was largely confined to traditional medicinal practices, Mira Kulkarni embarked on a revolutionary journey that would transform the ancient science into a luxurious, globally recognized brand. With just Rs. 2 lakhs in hand and a small team of two employees, Kulkarni founded Forest Essentials—a brand that today stands as a testament to her vision, resilience, and unwavering commitment to quality. From these humble beginnings, Forest Essentials has grown into a Rs. 10,000 crore empire, redefining luxury Ayurveda and setting new standards in the beauty and wellness industry.

Mira Kulkarni’s story is one of remarkable transformation. Born into a world where Ayurveda was a way of life, she initially began experimenting with traditional formulas to make soaps. However, the journey was far from easy. Kulkarni quickly encountered the challenges of sourcing pure and fresh ingredients, a rarity in the market at the time. Undeterred by these obstacles, she took matters into her own hands, often creating the ingredients from scratch to maintain the highest standards of quality. This hands-on approach laid the foundation for what would become one of India’s most esteemed luxury brands.

The name Forest Essentials itself has an interesting origin. It was suggested by Kiran Nadar, a friend of Kulkarni, who came across the term in America. The name perfectly encapsulated the essence of the brand—a blend of nature’s finest offerings, crafted into products that are as luxurious as they are effective.

Building a brand rooted in Ayurveda at a time when it was not yet associated with luxury required Kulkarni to break new ground. She faced skepticism from suppliers who doubted the viability of her products in a market dominated by synthetic and chemical-based cosmetics. However, Kulkarni’s belief in the potential of her products never wavered. “If I would buy it, I think there would be many people who would do the same,” she confidently asserted. This belief, coupled with a relentless pursuit of excellence, drove Forest Essentials to success.

The early years of Forest Essentials were a labor of love. The process of sourcing and creating high-quality ingredients was both time-consuming and labor-intensive. Kulkarni credits the success of her brand to the inclusive culture she fostered, where every member of the team, from employees to suppliers, felt a sense of ownership. “Everyone got so involved that everyone said it’s our project,” she recalled, highlighting the collective effort that propelled the brand forward.

Despite the challenges, Kulkarni did not see her gender as a barrier in her entrepreneurial journey. In fact, she encountered many individuals who went out of their way to support her vision. This support, combined with her determination, helped her overcome initial skepticism and push through the numerous challenges she faced.

Today, Forest Essentials is a name synonymous with luxury Ayurveda, boasting 160 stores across India and abroad. The brand has not only captured the Indian market but has also found a place in prestigious hotel chains like the Oberoi and Taj, further cementing its status as a leader in the industry.

Kulkarni’s personal life journey is as dramatic as her professional success. Married at 19, she lived a sheltered life until the sudden deaths of her father, mother, and husband left her alone with two children by the age of 28. This series of tragedies forced her to find a strength she didn’t know she had, and ultimately, it fueled her determination to build something extraordinary. Today, she stands among India’s wealthiest women, with a net worth of Rs. 1,290 crores, according to the Kotak Wealth Hurun – Leading Wealthy Women 2020 report. Forest Essentials, her brainchild, reported impressive revenues of Rs. 253 crores in the fiscal year 2020 and Rs. 210 crores in 2021.

Mira Kulkarni’s journey from homemaker to business mogul was neither planned nor easy. Yet, her story is a powerful reminder of the resilience, hard work, and unyielding belief in oneself that can turn the most modest beginnings into a global success. Her achievements serve as an inspiration, particularly to women, showcasing the untapped strength and potential they possess to create, innovate, and lead.

Delhi Residents Face Alarming 12 years Life Expectancy Reduction Due to Severe Air Pollution: Report

0

Delhi, the bustling capital of India, is facing a dire health crisis as its residents stand to lose nearly 12 years of their lives due to the city’s persistent air pollution. According to the latest Air Quality Life Index 2024 report, released by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC), the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, home to approximately 18 million people, is among the most polluted regions in the northern plains. The report paints a grim picture, revealing that the life expectancy of Delhi’s residents could decrease by an average of 11.9 years if current pollution levels persist, compared to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) guidelines.

Even when assessed against India’s national air quality standards, the situation remains critical. The report indicates that if pollution levels continue unabated, Delhi residents could see a reduction of 8.5 years in their life expectancy. This stark reality is compounded by the fact that Delhi has been identified as the most polluted city in the world, a distinction that underscores the severity of the air quality crisis facing its population.

The report also offers a glimmer of hope: if India were to achieve its national PM2.5 standards, the life expectancy of Delhi’s residents could increase by 8.5 years. More optimistically, if the city were to meet the stringent WHO standards, nearly 12 years could be added to the life expectancy of those living in Delhi.

The primary culprit behind this alarming health risk is PM2.5, a fine particulate matter capable of penetrating deep into the respiratory system, leading to severe respiratory and cardiovascular issues. The annual PM2.5 standard in India is set at 40 micrograms per cubic meter, yet over 40% of the population is exposed to air that far exceeds this limit. This widespread exposure has become a major public health concern, particularly in densely populated urban areas like Delhi.

As the air quality crisis looms large, the city’s residents are also grappling with weather conditions that could exacerbate the situation. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Delhi reached 34 degrees Celsius, a typical reading for this time of year, with humidity levels peaking at 85%. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “yellow” alert for Thursday, signaling potential bad weather that could disrupt daily life.

The IMD forecasts a cloudy sky accompanied by moderate rain, with temperatures expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius during the day and 23 degrees Celsius at night. Between the morning of August 27 and the morning of August 28, various parts of Delhi, including Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Ridge, Ayanagar, and Palam, received rainfall ranging from 7.4 mm to 14.5 mm.

As Delhi contends with both its environmental and weather-related challenges, the findings of the Air Quality Life Index serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for action. Without immediate and sustained efforts to reduce air pollution, the health and longevity of millions of Delhi residents remain at serious risk.
