Owned by Peter Singh and Neeno Kaur, this eco-friendly residence maintains an AQI between 5 and 15—a stark contrast to the city’s average AQI of over 300 during peak pollution seasons.

This achievement is a result of innovative and sustainable design. The house is built using traditional materials like lime mortar instead of cement and features stone-tiled roofs to regulate indoor temperatures naturally. Over 15,000 air-purifying plants are integrated into the property, including rooftop gardens and green walls, ensuring consistently clean indoor air.

The house is entirely off-grid, powered by solar energy. It also has a 15,000-liter rainwater harvesting system and reuses water to irrigate its greenery, promoting water conservation. Furthermore, the couple practices organic farming, growing vegetables year-round. They even use agricultural stubble, a major contributor to Delhi’s pollution, as compost for cultivating mushrooms.

The transformation of this home was inspired by Neeno Kaur’s health challenges after battling cancer. Her compromised lungs struggled with Delhi’s air, prompting the couple to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Their journey turned their home into a sanctuary of health and sustainability.
