Mikhail Gorbachev is one of the most important persona if we talk about the early 20th century. The man was a phenomenon personality who created a lot of impact in the world back then. 

He was the only final leader that was from the Soviet Union. His hardworking and diligence toward international relations made him win the Nobel prize in 1990 due to his support and understanding. Mikhail Gorbachev played a huge role in international relations as he was one of the most important parts of de-escalating the Cold War. 

However, Mikhail Gorbachev resigned from his post as the final leader, de facto leader of the USSR, on Christmas of 1991, wishing all the good luck and keeping faith in the people.

Despite achieving such heights in the political journey of Mikhail Gorbachev, he belonged to a peasant family of Russian-Ukrainian. Gorbachev’s full name was Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev. He was born in the village of Privolnoye, Stavropol Krai, on 3rd march 193. 

Due to the Stalin purge in the 1930s, his family had to suffer. Mikhail Gorbachev’s family was the victim of Stalin’s purge and socialization. The policy claimed to accept industrialization as quickly as possible and eliminate the class enemy for a better world. Therefore, the great famine in 1931 in Ukraine became the reason for Gorbachev’s uncle and aunt’s death. His family was affected by the aftermath.

Mikhail was one of the most incredible students who devoted his study to ethics and knowledge. He actively participated in the Komsomol soviet youth organization, which led him to become a very strict believer in the soviet Ideal. 

As a student, he never found it difficult to question the Soviet quo and asked questions. He was enrolled in the Moscow law school in 1950, where he befriended the leading idealist of Prague spring of 1968, Zdenek Mlynar. 

11 March 1985 was the day when Gorbachev became the leader of the Soviet Union. Mikhail Gorbachev maintained a very progressive political approach and developed a  great relationship between Russia and the USA.

1990, Mikhail proposed the ideology and became the mechanism of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. By the year 1996, he ran for president of Russia. He didn’t get enough votes but has been one of the most significant political figures in Russian history.
