Significance of the World Day of Social Justice

Social justice is something a person most needs to acquire. Thus, the world hosts a World Day of Social Justice on February 20th. However, the purpose of the day is to distinguish and increase awareness of social injustice. The day is to inform people about the significance of combating issues such as poverty, discrimination based on sexual orientation and biology, intolerance in the workplace, and others.

Therefore, everyone must celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. The world ought to impart the value World Day of Social Justice to others. However, no one in society should be exempt from the rule of law. As human beings, everybody should be treated fairly and equally.

While moving back in time, the first International Day of Social Justice was observed in 2009. It is significant to remember that it is not a recognized holiday. Thus, a Global Summit on Social Development has held in 1995 with the participation of over a hundred politicians in Denmark and Sweden. However, the United Nations declared February 20 to be the annual International Day of Social Justice on November 26, 2007. Thus, World Day of Social Justice is to provide an awareness interface for people.
