We talked to the founder of the brand, Dr. Jolly Jain. She explained us the upcoming trends and what people are interested in buying these days for the upcoming Diwali and wedding season-

  1. Which fabric or blouse styles are in more demand for the upcoming wedding season?
This wedding season, we are seeing a significant demand for luxurious fabrics like imported fabrics, banarsi brocades, and designer fabrics, which offer both style and durability. Styles such as high-neck blouses with intricate embroidery and deep V-neck designs are particularly popular, as they blend traditional aesthetics with modern trends. Brides are also favouring handwoven fabrics that add a touch of uniqueness to the wedding attire. A mix and match of modern fabric like denim and traditional Gujrati fabrics are in demand.

2. How has the demand for sustainable or eco-friendly wedding attire evolved?

The demand for sustainable and eco-friendly wedding attire has grown substantially over the past few years. Folks are opting for organic fabrics, natural dyes, and handloom textiles that support ethical manufacturing practices. Our customers are increasingly mindful of their environmental impact and are seeking out pieces that are not only beautiful but also sustainably produced. This shift towards eco-conscious fashion has inspired us to incorporate more sustainable materials and processes in our designs.

3. What were the main sources of inspiration for your latest collection?

Our latest collection draws inspiration from the rich cultural tapestry of India, blending traditional elements with contemporary design sensibilities. We looked towards classical Indian art forms, ancient architecture, and the vibrant colors of Indian festivals. We also incorporated modern minimalism, which appeals to today’s women who appreciate subtle elegance. We recently launched our sawan sutra collection which is a combination of Rajasthani lehriya , bandhej and mirror work weaves in an absolute modern design. This fusion of the old and the new allows us to create designs that resonate with a wide range of tastes and preferences.

4. Are there any cultural or historical elements that influenced your designs?

Absolutely, our designs are deeply rooted in cultural and historical elements. For instance, we have incorporated wavy lehriya fabric with evergreen mirror work which is suitable for all occasions. These elements not only add a historical depth to our designs but also celebrate India’s rich heritage. By reinterpreting these classical influences with a modern twist, we aim to keep these traditions alive while appealing to contemporary tastes.

5. What styles and colors are in vogue for Diwali this year?

This Diwali, vibrant colors such as rich reds, deep blues, and emerald greens are in vogue, reflecting the festival’s celebratory spirit. Whites and blacks are always the first choice of modern women. We are also seeing a trend towards metallic accents in gold and silver, which add a touch of glamour to traditional outfits. In terms of styles, blouses with statement sleeves, intricate back designs, and modern silhouettes that offer a flattering fit are particularly popular. These trends combine the festivity of Diwali with the elegance of traditional attire.

6. Are there any specific traditional motifs or designs that are making a comeback?

Yes, traditional motifs like the paisley, lotus, and peacock are making a strong comeback this season. Position prints are also in demand. These timeless designs, often seen in Indian textiles and art, are being reimagined in contemporary ways. We’ve also noticed a resurgence in the use of heritage weaves such as Banarasi and Kanjeevaram, which are being paired with modern blouses to create a blend of tradition and modernity. These motifs and designs resonate with customers who appreciate the enduring beauty of Indian craftsmanship.

I hope this interview helped you know the recent designs and trends emerging in the market for the upcoming Diwali and wedding season. So, if you are a person who is having family wedding or wanna try something new this Diwali then definitely you should visit the Ambodini Designer Studio.
