
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards celebrated the best achievements in film and television from 2025 in a star-studded ceremony held on January 11, 2026, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Major film winners that dominated the Globes night
The film categories saw fierce competition, but several standout titles took home top honours. Hamnet, a period drama inspired by Shakespearean themes, won Best Motion Picture – Drama, with Jessie Buckley earning Best Actress in a Drama for her powerful performance. Wagner Moura won Best Actor in a Drama for The Secret Agent, which also won Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language Film, highlighting the global reach of today’s cinematic storytelling.
In the lighter realm of musical and comedy cinema, One Battle After Another emerged as a big winner, capturing Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Director Paul Thomas Anderson also won for Best Director and Best Screenplay, while Timothée Chalamet and Rose Byrne took the acting honours in their respective categories.
Animation fans had reason to celebrate as KPop Demon Hunters won Best Animated Film along with the Best Original Song for “Golden,” cementing its crossover appeal between film and pop culture. Additionally, Sinners received the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score by Ludwig Göransson.

Television stars and breakthrough series recognized
On the television side, Netflix’s Adolescence dominated the limited series category, winning Best Limited Series and multiple acting awards including for Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty and Owen Cooper. The Pitt won Best TV Drama Series, with Noah Wyle recognised as Best Actor in a TV Drama. Meanwhile, The Studio secured Best TV Musical or Comedy Series, with Seth Rogen winning Best Actor in a TV Comedy.
The ceremony also introduced and awarded a new category: Best Podcast, which was won by Good Hang with Amy Poehler, reflecting the Globes’ evolving embrace of diverse storytelling platforms.

The night also honoured standout individual achievements. Teyana Taylor won Best Supporting Actress in a film for her role in One Battle After Another, and Stellan Skarsgård took Best Supporting Actor for Sentimental Value. Television favorites like Jean Smart (Hacks) and Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus) also earned acting accolades, adding to a night where both veteran talent and fresh voices were celebrated.
