COVID-19 Vaccine Online Registration for 18 and above: How to register on CoWin and Aarogya Setu

The Covid-19 vaccination drive phase 3 — including inoculation of all above 18 years of age in India — starts from May 1, and the registration for the same has kicked off from April 28.

Let’s know the detailed process as India enters the third phase of its coronavirus vaccination programme as it intends to vaccinate all those aged above 18 years in the country.

Tips to Register for COVID-19 vaccine online

Step 1 : Registration.

As registrations opened for the third phase of vaccination drive, users can register themselves to either the CoWIN website or the Aarogya Setu and UMANG app for registration. They can check the vaccinations centres closest to them and sign up to get vaccinated by either Bharat Biotech-manufactured indigenous Covaxin, or by Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield – being manufactured in India by Serum Institute of India (SII).

How to Register on CoWIN platform

1. Login to the CoWIN website, and click on to the option to register/sign in yourself.
2. Fill in your mobile number and submit to get an OTP. On receiving the OTP, input it to verify.
3. Now four people can register for vaccination and can insert details including your name, gender, year of birth and photo ID proof, and then click on register.
4. Upon registering, you get an option to schedule an appointment. Next to the registered person’s name, click on the option of schedule.
5. Insert your pin code to see all the centres where vaccination is on in the area inserted by you.
6. Select the centre, date and time of vaccination and click to confirm. This way, you can register yourself and others for the vaccination.

How to Register using Aarogya Setu

1. Open Aarogya Setu app and click on CoWIN tab.
2. Select the vaccination registration, and insert your phone number, and submit to get an OTP.
3. Insert the OTP and verify following which you will be navigated to the page where registration for vaccination can be done.
4. Follow the same steps as mentioned above for registering on the CoWIN platform.

Those getting vaccinated will need to take two vaccine shots — the second dose of Covaxin should be taken within 28 to 42 days of the first dose, while the second dose of Covishield vaccine must be taken between 28 to 56 days of the first dose.
