The historic place of Gudimallam is located in the district of Chittoor. The temple was situated in the place since the Andhra Satavahana period. According to the information Gudimallam temple was built in the 2nd or 3rd century.
More information about the temple is in the Museum at Chandragiri Fort. Chandragiri kings used to have the authority of the temple. However, Muslim invaders invaded the whole place and destroyed the temple to the ground.
Lord Shiva is worshiped as Parasurameshwara. It is said that the form of Lord Shiva that has been worshiped in the temple was not just a linga but a form of super deity hunter in Human form.
In 1954, in the Archaeologist Society of India, the villagers of Gudimallam took over the temple.
One of the greatest festivals that are celebrated in the temple is Mahashivratri, Navratri, and Ugadi. Visitors can visit the temple from around 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
You can reach the temple after traveling 17.4 km from the Tirupati airport. If one is traveling by train, one can reach the temple from Tirupati Railway Station, with a distance of 22 km. Thus, via bus one can reach traveling from 22 km.
