Visakhapatnam is set to become India’s new technology capital!
In a groundbreaking move for the country’s digital future, Google, Adani Enterprises, and Bharti Airtel have joined hands to establish India’s largest Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centre in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The mega project is part of Google’s $15 billion (around ₹1.3 lakh crore) investment plan for India from 2026 to 2030. It aims to transform Vizag into a global hub for AI and digital innovation, in line with the government’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision.
The Project
The AI hub will be developed by AdaniConneX, a joint venture between the Adani Group and US-based EdgeConneX, in collaboration with Airtel.
The facility will feature:
- A purpose-built data centre campus powered entirely by renewable energy.
- A new international subsea cable gateway, linking India’s eastern coast to Google’s global network — promising faster internet, higher data capacity, and enhanced digital infrastructure.
